Birthday gifts are stupid

6 posts in this topic

If you give someone a birthday gift you're rewarding them for existing. That's stupid. And if you don't buy certain people a gift they will hate you. My mother wanted to kick me out of the house once because I didn't buy her a gift. So some people care more about recieving gifts than about providing shelter to their child. That's the toxic culture we live in. I'm glad I don't have any friends. No friends = no obligations.

@Eric Tarpall hi there, brother. i'm sorry if that's your reference for birthdays.

a birthday can be a big source of contentment. when we celebrate a birthday, we're gratefully acknowledging the presence of a loved one.

a birthday gift can be something that comes from your heart. a hug, a few words of wisdom or even an apology. it can be something you buy because it reminded you of the person. it can be something you craft with your own hands. think of a birthday gift as a thank you.

if your mother expected you to buy her something, it's probabily because she's hurt for something. maybe she's having a hard time dealing with repressed emotions.

you'll certainly achieve a better understanding of this subject when find your way to enjoy the life you have available.

with love,
thank you

:D:D:D this is gold

I never gave a present in my entire life in family not even christams. I don't even know when my mom's birthday is nor how old she is :D something like 40+ old :D

However, i get along with my family super well, we are all very supportive and close :)

Funny , I had my birthday yesterday and I did not even know it until I got incoming calls.

Ok, you might see a lack of sense. But also try to grasp the lack of sense in your aversion to it

Gifts are one of the 5 Love Languages. To you and I they may seem pointless, but to some people they mean a lot.
