@Charlotte He says he has trouble getting the needed calories. Either he has a high intake and doesn't have the appetite to eat that much, or he has too little and doesn't know how to properly spread them out to make it easy.

calorie surplus as other have said and also make sure you are eating a moderate amount of protein like 150g. Lift consistently.
