Which one should I take first?(Question also for @Leo)

6 posts in this topic

I have a friend who can help me with sourcing ayahuasca plus DMT. Should I take those first or should I take LSD first?

I have been following the path of raja yoga, and self-inquiry for about a year now. Also, have been following the path of bhakti yoga consistently for more than 3 years now.

@Leo Gura It would be great if you also can answer this.

P.S.I have learned from various sources about the setting/setup (emotional/psychological and otherwise) prior to the intake and do NOT  intend to take it recreationally.

I would be cautious with Aya. Not only can it be mentally challenging, it can be very physically demanding. As well, proper Aya preparation takes skill. It’s not as straightforward as synthesizing LSD.

I’ve found Aya to be quite rofoynd, yet I would start off with LSD or DMT. I was grateful I had a few trips under my belt before doing an Aya retreat.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question :-)

Can you please let me know in what ways can it be mentally challenging if I have had several intense spiritual experiences already?

Also, Can you please let me know more about the proper aya preparation you are referring to(maybe to use it after I take LSD or DMT )?

Any guidance would be really appreciated.

IME, the mental challenge is surrending control of the mental narrative. Aya is roughly on par with LSD and Shrooms. San Pedro and Ald-52 is more gentle for me.

I am not familiar with how to prepare Aya. You would need to research that

@Serotoninluv From what I read on the internet synthesizing LSD isn't really that "straightforward" :D

My understanding is it’s straightforward for a chemist with proper equipment.

If you have sourced your own Aya, I would go with that first.  The nice thing about aya (or pharmahuasca if that's what you have) is that you can control the dose.  I have a lot of experience with this, and I have had much better experiences at home in total silence, controlling my own dose than being given a dose that someone else has prepared that I have no idea of the strength of.  You have a small sip, wait half an hour to 45 mins and have some more if you need it.  I have never had a "negative' or frightening experience this way and being plant medicine, it is healing to your spirit and body.

LSD is harder to control and lasts many times longer, even with a smaller dose and can cause a lot of discomfort coming down.

But ultimately it depends what you want out of the experience.
