Benefits and CONS of contemplation?

6 posts in this topic

I'm thinking about switching my nightly meditation session of 25 minutes at night to Contemplation of 25 minutes instead.

So 25 minutes of meditation in the morning then 25 minutes of contemplation at night

or meditate at night and contemplate in the morning, depending on how i'm feeling.

I've contemplated in the past, but stopped because I just got too busy/forgot

The question is: I am looking for some data of things you guys have noticed in your thought processes/etc from contemplating consistently.

Edit: I figured out now that I will keep my daily meditation of 25 minutes in the morning and 25 at night then contemplate after one of those two sessions starting at 10 minutes then build up more time if needed.

@SageModeAustin Contemplation is such a gem.

It intimately connects you with parts of reality that simply over looked. There's a certain mystical feeling that comes along with contemplation. When you spend a sufficient amount of time on a question like "What is society?" or "What is Language?" a wave of awe can crash over you, especially when you reflect and realize that you didn't actually know the answer before contemplating!

This place of not knowing is where understanding can be developed and authentically explored.

@Mu_ Interesting. I will try this. I figured out now that I will keep my daily meditation of 25 minutes in the morning and 25 at night then contemplate after one of those two sessions starting at 10 minutes then build up more time if needed.
