Perception, Being and the ego

10 posts in this topic

I watched the video What is perception yesterday and I actually had a glimpse of the Infinite, the ego just fell down and couldnt fight for a moment... It was a huge mindfuck for me... Actually only fuck, because the mind wasnt quite there :D

I am not a fearful or unstable person or anything, but I got this thought, it was like some kind of feeling that I am gonna die or have to die in order to experience God, there still was this barrier between me and Being.

I also couldnt understand, how is it possible for the mind-body to die and for the Consciousness to survive. I will probably watch my hand more and try to experience this more often. Any advice on how to overcome these problems? I was thinking about going on a psychedelic trip, but I am affraid that I am too young for it and I am not ready in general... But Leo has finally showed me the value of it :D

That is just a thought. Let it go. It's a common argument the ego comes up with, that it has to die for God to shine through. But the ego doesn't exist in the first place, and therefore cannot die - meaning there is nothing to be afraid of.

@bejapuskas can you see how this question will dissolve once you can understand that consciousness is not a product of the mind-body.

When that's the case, the answer is simple :)

@SoonHei @bejapuskas

It's correct. The ego does not exist and therefore cannot die.

What however must happen is for you to not associate and attach yourself with the Ego.

In doing that. The ego will dissolve / been seen from a distance from the real YOU

This is just too much... :/ I still have the connection with Being and the organs, mainly brain... Another question pops up, that takes it from the other end: What if there was only the possibility to feel but nothing else? Could it sense anything? There would be no space to feel, no thoughts to think about, no objects to see... Its kind of meaningless to talk about, it needs to be grasped...

Are you guys Enlightened? :D Or have had some experiences?

@SoonHei Oh thats interesting... :) To what death was Jesus reffering to, assuming he was Enlightened then? I thought it was the ego death....

@bejapuskas hey. i am not a christian, so i am not sure about that too much

i am sure if he was referring to a death, it would have been ego death, yes.

keep in mind. when someone says ego death, it certainly does mean that. but the context has to be known

because as we discussed above, the ego does not exist in the first place... so how can it die?

you see?

ego death = coming to the recognition of your true nature. (which will only happen when you no longer assume (a very solid assumption that is) you are the ego )
