As enlightend, do you get fearless?

Like if someone is afraid of heights, does that go away or stays as usual?

It's still natural to be scared, but you will quickly realize that's it's your own perception rather than the obstacle itself.

@Paan It depends on the source of where the fear comes from. All fears and insecurities that have the root of mis-identification (like fear of death) would dissipate. But the natural emotion of fear is a healthy mechanism to keep us in check. You should feel a jolt of fear if you are too close to a tall ledge or something dangerous.

However, you are already fearless. The mind fears on its own. But you are not the mind. So becoming enlightened does *not* make you fearless, but it helps you realize that you already are fearless.

@Paan As Grasshopper said: Some fears are genetically "encoded" into our system. Like the feeling of thirst or hunger. These fears wont go away after enlightenment ....

Doesn't work this way, you'll still have those feelings of 'fear'. As enlightment, you'll be aware of them and you'll now what you'll have to do in order to overcome them.

It's okay to be scared, perfectly normal. just need to overcome the feeling. How you do that? Work on it. For example, fear of hights, here is an example on how to overcome: http://www.wikihow.com/Overcome-a-Fear-of-Heights
