How is possible to reach enlightment or constant high consciousness IF...

If you have a 8 hour job that demands a lot of thought/monkey mind active?

Until recently I was used to have a very calm-boring day to day job, so I could be almost for the whole day totally aware, wheter i was working or not. But now , I have another job which, even if I like, i can see how its impossible for me to remain aware while I work, because I have to get lost into monkey mind in order to comeup with solutions or achieve other things...etc. Now, i am not saying that if you are very experienced, you still can remain aware even if you have to think a lot, (particularly because guess what, you are not your thoughts, you dont need to be identified with them to get your mind to work, it can work by itself!) but, at the level of consciousness/practice I have, when mental activity gets intense, I get lost and become my mind again...

If you sleep 8 hours, and you work another 8, you only have left 8 hours to practice awareness, which it seems not enough since 2/3 of the day you are being unconsciouss. You can always take retreats, but in my experience I can only reach high levels of awareness with constant absolute focus, if get back to monkey mind I just loose it again.

You could be more aware if only it is during those times that are less intense in your workday, or perhaps you could be aware for 15 minutes more while you're having a high functioning moment at work before you drown in the business monkey mind

If every week you manage to gain lets say 15 few more minutes where you can maintain awareness..it won't be that long really before almost the entirety of your workday is very present, aware and consciousness

It takes patience really

Being aware is like activating jet thrusters, constantly, to leave the atmosphere of the earth

Gravity pulls you down, sometimes it pulls you down more depending on stress, workload, emotional upsets, other people and so sometimes you do levitate in the earth atmosphere, or crash in the unconscious sea

The goal is to never crash, always try to activate your thrusters and when gravity pulls you too hard with life issues you levitate in the atmosphere, you stay on "stand-by", you make a safe landing on the ground

You could see this as co-consciousness with the monkey mind, allowing the monkey mind to temporarily take-over, during those for example really intense work moments, you consciously allow the monkey mind to do its thing because you're not strong enough yet to let your jet thrusters burn during bad weather

But you do this consciously, which is why this is a safe landing, grounded, you let the monkey mind do its thing without resistance but some part of you is alert that this is going on, it knows exactly what is going, that part is looking for any moment...

The moment it sees the monkey mind is not needed anymore, the very moment that part of you feels like its strong enough to take on the weather, if only for a small moment, BAAM jet thrusters activated

Take-off, burning, jet thrusting,  Levitating,  Safe landing,  grounded Take-off,  Crash landing due to blizzard,  Grounded take off,  Levitating,  Jet thrusting,  Levitating, Jet-thrusting,  Levitating,  Jet-thrusting, Levitating,   Jet-thrusting,  Levitating,  Piercing the Atmosphere into space and infinity

That's the nature of expanding consciousness, so that awareness is present in the moment even while the monkey mind is occupied with daily work.  Yes, it's easier to do it with simpler tasks and as the tasks grow more complex it can happen that awareness gets distracted from presence and collapses into getting consumed by the mind's tasks.

Exercising consciousness in a way that allows awareness to stay present in the moment and the monkey mind's tasking gets consumed by presence so it is lifted into an awakened expression. Instead of the monkey mind distracting away awareness from presence so it gets consumed by the veiled expression of the unawakened.

@Javfly33 Resonating with all that. This might not sound like the answer, but start from the bottom and check it all, everyday, you’ll need an A game everyday; sleep, diet, exercise, practices, mindfulness & stomach focused breath, & trips on weekends / vacations. Realistically it could still be done within a year (imo). You could make a case that it would be easier if you had 24 free hrs everyday, and of course there is someone who does, and gets lazy, and gets nowhere on the path. You could make a case that unfreedom is the best catalyst to discovering freedom, internally, financially, and in terms of time. I know a guy who was in college fulltime, had a fulltime job, and two part time jobs, and a wife and kid - and meditated twice a day. 8 hours of free time - everyday? That’s a lot. 

You’d have to commit fully to the fact that anything is possible. You’d have to realize there is zero time for doubtful thoughts.
