Awaken Once then Party Forever?

7 posts in this topic

This is something I would like to know (I already see this crumbling as I find myself asking "who is this "I" that wants to know?"

but still, "I" would like to know this - that when I awaken in my current body-mind I am attached with, will I then forever remain in that state, even after the death of this body-mind... watching as no-thing and being everything?

or will my awareness again zero-in onto another body-mind which "I" will have again have to awaken (if possible at all)

I ask this question as I have heard this quite often in spiritual circles that someone might have done a lot of leg work in their previous lifetimes to have awakened so easily this time along or whatever the case might be.. that it was multiple lifetimes for the full realization to have finally occurred

this leads me to believe that if someone "tires" to awaken in their life.. and fails to do so.. and dies while associating themselves as the body-mind.. then all the "spiritual knowledge/gains" which they acquired "remains" with their spirit and their life begins at that level to continue in the new form which they might become and then try to awaken from there... and then once ultimate full awakening happens / enlightenment... then it's just done, forever, and you live out eternity as a section of the absolute/the whole thing even and no more life/death cycle

if enlightenment is to occur upon death automatically anyways. then it aint too bad if someone can't awaken / die before die...

but it seems that life/death cycle repeats until you become the container of the life/death cycle.

You awaken, then is a process of months and years to heal the body and create an optimum harmony.

Is something more difficult than a professional sport. (i was a powerlifter, the healing of the body is more painful than itchy muscles of training)

Or you can lie to yourself that is all candy and you've seen the truth and you are enlightened.

Enlightenment is much more than the realization of how reality works.

Nobody can answer this question for you anyway, no matter if they say so. Find out for yourself :) There's infinite time to find out.
I think one of the traps here is the term "complete enlightenment". What is that supposed to be? Yes, many teachers say you're either enlightened or not. I personally don't think that way any longer, for me this believe is still being one of the biggest limitations. To arrive at that end goal. This desire and question in itself is the hindrance.

I do not know that either, but for me what many call enlightenment I think is often just "no-self". When you compare it to the many maps of stages of enlightenment, that would just be the beginning. Also, I do think it is quite more likely that there is no end at all, there is an infinite realization going on if you let it. I mean no distinction means no distinction, no duality or non-duality, no beginning or end (or end goal for that matter).

The only way is finding out :)

It's okay to use "I" in conversation with others. That's just how humans communicate.

You don't awaken in your current body-mind. You are already fully enlightened. All you have to do is to get rid of assumptions that you "are" a body-mind, and all its attachments.

will I then forever remain in that state, even after the death of this body-mind... watching as no-thing and being everything?

Your true self always is, always has been, and always will be. To know it as you know it now, there needs to be a body. But it knows itself by its own light. Every night when you go into deep sleep, there is no longer the body nor is there the mind, still the Self remains, even though there is no-one to experience it. If you ask yourself "where was I when I went to sleep last night?" The answer to this question is immediately apparent, and it's the same answer that applies to your question. However don't look for an answer in words. Just be, and it should be clear.

Sages say that you will be born anew into another body, and that you can, in this life, remember your past lives. However I cannot comment on this. Sorry!

Again, enlightenment is not something that occurs in the future. It is already here. It's just a matter of you being aware of it.

I have also heard this. It makes you wonder!

yes. on these points:

once the assumption that I am a body-mind and its attachments are gotten rid of or i become aware of the enlightenment which is already/always here. and it's the parmanent (mooji, adyashanti, sahdguru, jesus, osho level awakening, full compelete awakening, not a glimpse)

then WILL/CAN that go away?

one question comes naturally and osho answered this by saying he is now HERE FOREVER

so that implies that it will not go away. but post the body-death with which IT nows ITSELF now. once that body is gone, how/what remains as what. the entirety of it.

here it is, lol

i just find that it would be so blahh working ur ass off as leo says, 10K + hours of work into this, and to finally get the awkening.. only to lose it on death of the body and then reincarnate into the world or some other form as a baby

i also find myself telling my that there is only the SELF

so i am already incarnate as other ppl who will not awaken and am already part of the very tiny percentage who come to even knowing about it

i just hope even though its one self, the self/eyes/awarness within the absolute which i am right now. i hope this stays as who i am after i awaken and then can yolo for eternity

@SoonHei Your question is a very interesting, and quite honestly one of the better ones i've heard regarding enlightenment. Yes, mooji is correct to say he is here forever. Ramana says the same thing, and I will say the same, as it is truly how I feel. However you are asking about the mechanism that goes into reincarnation, and for that, I have no answer. The sages and the scriptures say that when you pursue enlightenment in one life, even if you don't reach it, you will be born again in circumstances that are more conducive to enlightenment. I have heard this from very wise sages. But I say, let's just be silent on the matter because it is the most truthful.

@FoxFoxFox hmmmm

In reading you answer I did get this mini thought as well - is this another ego's trick to survive (it definitely is self perpetuating as it should be once asked) but I don't give this a lot of weight so that's good

Just was curious and wanted to ask.

Thanks

@peanutspathtotruth indeed brother. And that search is on

As you said, I only have an infinite time left ;)

@Hellspeed bless. Indeed, one step atta time.
