How do you know he's deluding himself ? 

So you would be jealous of material possession, but not eternal peace and freedom ?

These are the things that helped me the most:

• when Leo said something along the lines of "there is nothing personal about the body or mind" and he gave the example of how they are no more personal than a tree or a car.
• when winterknight said something along the lines of "there is suffering, but I do not suffer"
• when Jim Carrey said "I used to be Jim Carrey experiencing the universe, now I'm the universe experiencing Jim Carrey"

Am I enlightened? Even if I was, I wouldn't be able to communicate this to anyone, and you certainly wouldn't be able to tell from posts on an online forum. The experience is what it is.
