The ABSOLUTE can be known by ITs Qualities

8 posts in this topic

What the absolute is, cannot be known because it is unknowable.

What we can know about the absolute are it's qualities such as eternal, infinite, unborn, omnipresent, knower of all ... So on.

But WHAT  THAT is, cannot be known.

It just IS and it's knowledge of ITSELF is that it's always been there, forever without a beginning

Exactly! Can't be known in the conventional subject-object relationship. Thus it's called the end of knowledge.

But yet, it IS and you are THAT.

The Absolute's way of knowing itself is just being itself. Just the the Sun's way of illuminating itself is just being itself. The Sun doesn't need a 2nd object to reflect it's light to illumine itself.

Also these 'qualities' are mind's knowledge/interpretation/model of the Absolute. These words don't really mean anything.

The Absolute doesn't need to know and be itself through these words. From it's own experience, it just IS.

Eternal, infinite, unborn, omnipresent, knower of all...as opposed to what? The Absolute doesn't know any such contrast.

The Absolute has no qualities, which is identical to it having all qualities.

All qualities are qualities of the Absolute. So literally any quality you can think of is a quality of the Absolute. Which is precisely why nothing can be said of the Absolute because to say it has one quality but not another is to misrepresent it.

It is infinite, finite, both, and neither.

It is small, big, both, and neither.

It is eternal, temporal, both, and neither.

And so on down the line.

Your mind cannot hold all of these qualities at once. For that, you would have to exit the mind and literally become the entire universe. Which is possible, but not within the realm of speech or conventional "knowledge." You'd have to leave those behind.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Yes, awareness cannot be known as an object

@SoonHei

Another thing you might find interesting.

It is kind of limiting to say that the Absolute exists. Then the question arises where does that existence come from?

The Absolute doesn't exist. It is existence itself!

Yes. Subjectivity dissolves into the Absolute. It is sooo liberating ?
