The Neuroscience of Enlightenment

6 posts in this topic

It seems as consciousness cannot be reduced down to the physical brain or matter, no matter how advanced our science and technology becomes or how advanced the explanations become. "You need 70-80 billion neurons firing at this rate and at this Hz to create consciousness" Really? But I can't see it in the neurons. It's not a satisfactory answer. It is satisfactory to take the Hindu answer that the 70-80 billion neurons at a specific Hz connects with the primary world, consciousness. The neurons are inside of consciousness, because the brain is connected with consciousness, consciousness isn't inside the neurons because consciousness is primary, not neurons, but maybe the neurons create the connection. The world is consciousness and we here utilize it by connecting to it.

Well, in my opinion, I'd say Enlightenment has to do very little with the neurons.

The more you scrutinize the movie, the easier it is to forget the screen. It only takes one thought, so 10 will always do. Finite appearance & infinite Self. Nothing is wrong with forgetting. Thinking. It’s quite a rubic’s cube, no doubt. But also it’s not, at all.
