Do I Want Spoilers?

7 posts in this topic

I've been chugging away at the puzzle of life over the last few years at a decent pace, I'm wondering if anyone decently far into the puzzle has any recommendations on how seriously and fast I should be running through this.  Should I be putting the pedal to the medal and try to take this super super seriously, or is it okay to take it on at my own pace and kind of smell the flowers?  Or is the idea that I might be allowed to smell flowers just a maze that I haven't gotten out of?  Also onto the actual title, should I be chasing after help from other people, or if I think I can solve this by myself to a large degree is that more rewarding in anyone's experience?

No matter what you do it'll be a learning experience. I personally Love putting the pedal to the medal. Of course the pedal to the medal is very subjective too. You'll take it really seriously once you start seeing how the trajectory of your life is changing.

Yes absolutely, just remember half assness produces half assness results. With that being said I don't see a problem with getting your feet wet and taking your own time with things.

Yeah probably, I think you're complicating this whole maze thing. Just go out and do the work, go out and do what needs to be done.

Yes getting help from people multiplies results. You still have to embody what your teachers or mentors tell you, and you still have to go out and do the work and get feedback from the Universe. It's like asking should I travel from Brazil to Peru on the Amazon river without a map. Sure, you can do it, sure it may adventurous, sure it would be nice to find out on your own how to do it without a map, but then you have to worry about getting lost and animals eating you since you have never charted that territory. I think a better option is to learn all you can from multiple resources and find out what is working, which routes to take, etc. and then once you get the hang of everything maybe start charting your own territory.

This is only my experience, everyone is different, take it for what its worth to you.

Yeah I think you hit some good points, thanks for the response!

If you can get lost in enjoying yourself, then just do that.  If your in the figuring out stage, take a look at a post I did, it may be helpful.

Great post, thanks for linking that.  Unrelated question though, if you could undo some of your progress and kind of reset to a lower level of self awareness, would you redo the journey so to say, or if you could would you stay at the absolute highest level of self-awareness possible/that you feel you've achieved?

A great book I read said that there are three types of awakening.  The slow and painful, with lots of highs and lows along the way.  The middle ground challenging with steady progress and the relatively comes easy and enjoyable, with a letting go of the old that is just so glad to be let go of.  I fell on the first one, really slow and painful.  So no I wouldn't want to redo it.  I'd rather stay with whats been understood.  But would I not do it to begin with, no, I would do it, its worth it.
