Does Enlightenment happen slowly or fast

Is it always a big sonic boom? Or a slower more gradual process? Adyashanti made his sound like he had big insights then slowly after his ego seized to exhist, shinzen young said his began with an sds sit then self inquiry  nailed his home! Echart got his by dumb luck doing self inquiry! he didn't even know he was Doing it, he wasn't even spiritual..anyone have any other stories on other gurus/ mystics???

just want some more info on the matter?

For me it was like "I got it, i lost it" for 4 years. Now it just decided to stay for longer. Maybe ego veils it again tomorrow, who knows. But no fireworks, not anything special. It just clicked.

Its one thing to understand something, its another to have it shifted into your direct awareness.

I understand all is one, but it takes a bit more effort to just be ever present aware of that in everything you do.

@Jack River well jack they say we are already are enlightened, or there is no "I" to be enlightened, but what the hell do "I" know, I'm not Enlightened! ?
