embracing evil - goosebump material

87 posts in this topic

I m less than 2 hours footwalk from germany. My grand mother has been slaped by her teacher to not "zig heil" at school, then she did.

but for me Hitler, who knows anything, he was just the voice of the whole germany at this time.  People needed jobs et many things.

it's too easy to guilt one men.

and He was as good as evil. He was a dreamer. He didn't do everything with bare hands, there was many hands, too easy to guilt one men.

Maybe he did it the wrong way but to me he was mostly a good men, and life broke him ( he lost his best friend during the war )

I'm not telling he was good, I m telling he was just a man.. his misstakes just touch us.

Jesus started much more war than Hitler in a way. and killed more people by his teaching. ( probably )

that's easy to call someone full of shit, now that your ass is well heated on a couch. like you would have been less full of shit...

@Strikr and you? if he wouldn’t have been in germany? or if you would have been in germany?

there have also been french fascists. like italians etc. so how easy is it to see only the „good“ résistance side and identify with that?

is that scary?

@now is forever When it come to my deep down beliefs on good and evil, even if I intellectually say "good and evil don't exist" it is true most of the time that I don't act as if this is a present moment experiencial truth.

For me, when I think of the word evil I always think of suffering. And I feel like I'm in an odd predicament with my attitude towards suffering. If I'm in a higher consciousness state I will feel as though suffering does not exist because suffering is a thought (of course that's a slightly unuanced way of phrasing it) and so it is only then that I would act "without regard" for good and evil.

Hark ye yet again — the little lower layer. All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event — in the living act, the undoubted deed — there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough.

@lmfao that is, because suffering is not a thought.

if we could be aware of that.

but with help of the thought, you can either escape it and push it back for backlash, or you can try to solve it.

@now is forever Really? Can there be suffering if there are no thoughts?

@now is forever @now is forever I resonate deeply with the quote "there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so". I think it's a fundamental truth which is obfuscated to unbelievable degrees because of how "tricky" the mind is.

@tsuki one of my grandmas had altsheimer disease - i was around six when she died. i can remember how she used to pull out her fake teath and we made her do that over and over again because she forgot all the time she had already showed us. (it was really so cute)

shortly before she died she could not even turn herself around anymore. i‘m sure she couldn’t remember anything from the past anymore - but i‘m also sure every moment she suffered must have been the infinite suffering, as only this moment would exist for her.

(for the ones who think of the nazi story. she had 9 children and lived on a farm close to the netherlands boarder, my grandfather didn’t have to go to war because of the farm, he also was not in the party they tried to stay out of it, would it had made a difference if it was otherwise? for me certainly not)

@now is forever What I said was not intended to trivialise the existence of suffering, it was intended to put across my view that thoughts are just extremely powerful. There is a lot of depth to them. They are often beyond our conscious control and arise simultaneously with bodily sensations. For example, if you put someone through intense pain and discomfort negative thoughts will arise and can make your head feel like it will explode (at least that's my experience). They aren't just something which can be brushed off easily and controlled, which is why personal development stuff.

Thoughts are a fiction in the sense that they do not represent the real world. To quote Alan watts, we confuse our symbols for the world with the world as it is (for example is the phrase "the sound of a gong" literally the sound of a gong or is the phrase just a a concept?). Suffering is a part of this fiction. But I do not use the word fiction to trivialise suffering, I use it to state that thoughts can lead to a "false" ( fictitous, ie not "true" ) perception reality. I'm not saying suffering is trivial, I'm saying that suffering a massive facet of reality and that suffering is nested in thoughts since thoughts are a massive facet of reality.

@lmfao no, of course the question was not if you can feel your thoughts.

never mind. the story of my grany was kind of hard on me. helplessness is suffering too. but it doesn’t change that someone has to help.

I like the sound of Cross of Iron better. Victoria Cross sounds too, false, for lack of a better word.

Had an ancestor that probably, personally signed the death warrants of the most people in English history, but I could be mistaken.

I guess a clown soaked in blood is not that good in selling burgers. "Killer Clowns from outer space!" Gone for more of the chic look.

actually i wanted to post some more bloody pictures in the beginning, as a contrast - to hitlers baby pic. but there was an error in the uploading function....

so i decided to stick to the child story, maybe it was even more goosebumps. (do you use that word in english for horror? goosebumps?)

what about clown burgers? ? ?

sorry really getting to the dark side here.

face sausage is equally absurd.

isn’t it so cute.

the true story behind “it” uncovered.

it was all just about food and face.
