Debate forum section

Hello everyone!

I was wondering why this forum doesn't have a debate section? A place to debate on politics, social issues, world news, education, philosophy, etc. Not only such a section would encourage us promote our point of view, but also develop our abilities at creating strong arguments. Users could be encouraged to post only truly researched content so that each thread consists of only highly valuable information. I don't see how anyone wouldn't benefit from this.

I do see how such a section could get very heated up over certain subjects, maybe that's one of the reason it hasn't been created yet. No one wants unnecessary flame wars.

What is your opinion about this?

Don't bring debates on here. If you want to argue please do so elsewhere. Sharing ideas, insights, multiple perspectives isn't the same as feeling like you need to debate and defend position ideologically. As someone whose lived with a dad whose very much into political science and "philosophy" and treats debating like "a UFC sport" I can tell you that it's a waste of time and just becomes pure dogma. You don't need to go out and argue with people.
