Self-help phonies

3 posts in this topic

So there is this woman from just a few years ago who I knew as a waitress.  She had a lot of tattoos, a real weirdo.

So she decided to get on YouTube and try to start a business, and then later emptied her guts out about being raped when she was young (and she still is young in her 20s).  There weren't a lot of views or interest.  Next, she took some LSD and/or mushrooms a few times (probably like 2 or 3), & started listening to Ralph Smart.  Now she's using her own channel that is sort of a rip-off of Ralph Smart!!

So you take mushrooms or LSD 2-3 times, now you're "spiritual", & creating a clone of some other Self-Development guru on YouTube?   No college degree, no job. Just impoverished & living off the dole of her bf, while producing this terrible self-help video channel.  There's nothing even original brought to the table.  How can someone claim to be spiritual after some experimentation with LSD?  Seriously?

I think that's one of the weird parts of the Self-Help Industry is that people get involved in it to help themselves, but then get so engrossed in it, that they decide to become their own life-coach...but with no training, experience, or anything useful brought to the table.  I wonder if this is just another phase that she'll go through & move past?

Dude, just go into a genuine awakening process for a couple of years and you will find for yourself that you don't need training from outside sources of your breath, literally.

There's some truth to this, although I don't want to agree or disagree with too much of what you said.

Personal Development has three major elements to it and the best teachers are keen at all three:

  • Life Purpose Work: Small Picture and Big Picture
  • Conceptual Understanding Work
  • Enlightenment Work
