Meditation feels like tripping.

Hey there,

So, I'm trying to to get a steady meditation practice going for 2 weeks now. The thing is, I'm getting a lot of "side effects" or stuff going on when I'm meditation that come up relatively fast, within 10 to 30 minutes usually. Things like visual static, seeing a purpleish pulse, spinning sensations, falling sensations, high pitched tones like an old TV and other things that somewhat resemble a psychedelic trip.

Is this normal? I'm not even that concentrated when it happens. There is still a lot of monkey mind going on and I'm still pretty much a meditation noob. Maybe something to do with kundalini. I've heard that there is some risk to that kind of thing so I want to be careful. Any suggestions or thoughts how do deal with this would be appreciated.

I've reached a stage after years of practice in my journey that I can DMT (access the pineal) trip while meditation. Don't worry.

When you start meditating you look for all these effects that seem cool, they will vanish eventually, just focus on awareness. Ive seen hypnagogic images, colors, felt spinning sensations, fallen asleep, heard pulsating sounds and you know what? It hasnt mattered at all, what really matters is the insights you get.

Dont look at me! Look inside!

Yes totally normal. I had exactly the same experience when I first started meditating on a regular basis.

It passed for me after about 3 months into it, my meditations became more peaceful and stayed like that.

I think at the beginning of the habit your mind is going through actual physical changes, kind of rewiring itself from within. I can feel it sometimes as a tension in my forehead.

Also depends if you actually take psychedelics or even weed, that might have different effects.

Hi.

Yes. All of these side effects are normal and therefore could be more.

Check out this video about the dark side of meditation.

I personally don't have any side effects yet and maybe they'll come, maybe they won't. Who knows...

But the most important thing you can do is to keep meditation as a daily habit.

Good luck.

Nice. This means you are advancing fast.

Maybe it is time to go hardcore now ;)

Go haritaki, raw fermented cacao nuts, spirulina & chlorella, ginseng, turmeric, melatonin etc.

At the end of the day is the healing process of the digestive system and internal organs, because they are atrophied.
