Battle Of The Love Doctors

8 posts in this topic

I looked around on the web and I could find nowhere to post this but in a YouTube comment section and it just isn't enough, so I thought I'd come here to post due to its relevance in the self-help community. It's just something interesting I noticed & have never seen before.

Basically on March 30th, I was listening to the free Doc Love radio show.  Usually, he'll start out in the first 5-10 minutes to give some really bad examples of celebrity relationships or crap articles from other dating coaches.  For instance, he gave an example of Phil Collins taking back his wife who took $40 million from him in a divorce over 10 years ago.  But on this Wednesday night, he basically reached out to confront another dating coach, Coach Corey Wayne!

I've read parts of Doc Love's The System and Corey Wayne's book I've read twice.  I've been listening to both of these guys for a few years now.  Doc Love actually thumbed through Corey's book and reading off some passages that mirrored The System, such as interest levels.  Also, Corey mentioned Doc Love in the book and he's even said he didn't agree with all of Doc Love's principles.  It was implied, not so subtly that plagiarism was involved.

Lastly a couple of callers had called in & bad-mouthed Corey Wayne before getting on with their story.  Up until now, I'd never seen anything like this for people in the self-help community.  It made me wonder about the potential for a lawsuit.  For instance, I'd heard the inventors of NLP were in court suing each over who invented it.

At any rate, I don't know if you can hear the rant on Doc Love's radio show without subscribing to his Radio Archives.  I've been thinking about subscribing myself as the speed with which Doc Love can give an answer to somebody's problem is uncanny.  It's second nature.  He knows right where to explain things.  I'm not really a fan of his dating dictionary however.  $100 for his book is very steep, as opposed to Corey Wayne's book which is free or you can pay $10 for the digital or $15 for hard copy.

Just wanted to see if anyone had heard it or had any comments on this.

Best,

SMD

Never heard of them. I have a sense you are searching for some answers. Do you have any questions that someone's here maybe able to offer some insight before dropping money on books?

Wow, really?  Never heard of either?   Well I first of Doclove back in 2012.  I found a website called Askmen.com and he was a regular contributor to their online magazine or whatever it is.  There is a ton of archives there and at the time I probably read every one of them twice:

http://www.askmen.com/dating/doclove/archive1.html

Then after discovering him, he stopped doing those weekly articles, quit basically, and started doing the weekly radio program at doclove.com.  It's free every Wednesday at 7pm CST for an hour.  Now I was planning buying The System, but then I found Coach Corey Wayne's YouTube channel.  There are something like 1500 videos there!!  And for many years he was doing a video per day.  Only this year did he decide to cut back to 3 times a week and extended the length to around 30 minutes.  Just search his name and you can see his videos there.

Both of these guys are pretty hard-edged, but the things they do seem to work pretty well.  It definitely raised my awareness to paying attention to the actions of the opposite sex.  Looking in my past, I could see that I was totally blind of the positive female response I would receive from time to time..

You can check out their stuff on the above info for free & see for yourself.

xDxD  Listening to Doc Love again and he's still going at it with Corey Wayne's book!  He didn't mention Corey's name this time but started critiquing a couple of relationships that were mentioned in that book..pretty much trashing Corey's technique (I read the book so I recognized it).  Scorched earth policy going on here.  Usually Doc Love will spend that first 5 minutes blasting various news columnists or celebrities, but he's really got his sights on Corey's work this time.  Could be several radio shows in the future to listen in & enjoy this.  Doc Love's radio program every Wednesday night.  Corey hasn't mentioned it on any YouTube video of his yet, was wondering if he would comment about it but I guess not.

I had an update & thought I'd bring it up.  It's the weirdest thing I've seen so far!!!  I mean, Jesus!

So I haven't heard anymore from DocLove radio about plagiarism, but I haven't been every weekend as usual to find out.  However, what I have seen is that Corey Wayne has redirected his "Understanding Relationships" program to start talking about politics twice a week!!  He's spending around an hour per YouTube talking about 2nd Amendment Gun rights & all the other crap that people already talk about on the Internet & all over the media...turning into a YouTube variation of Fox News.  EDIT: AND HE'S NOT TALKING ABOUT RELATIONSHIP ADVICE!

To make things even worse, he's CENSORING the damn Comments section!!!  There's nothing in it but RAH-RAH, "I'm with you!!" dogmatic agreement!!  I have no idea what the hell is going on with his YouTube.  I posted a comment on it today about no voices of dissent in the Comments section & it was deleted not 10 minutes later.  Why the hell would anyone care so much??  I mean, aren't opinions like a-holes & everybody has one?  Does he really hope for someone to want to spend an hour listening to politics on a Channel that was called "Understanding Relationships"??

There's no explanation from Corey on why the tirades. No rhyme nor reason.  And the total censorship on the comments system kills all belief in the freedom of speech for me, while at the same time he's spewing dogma about "right to bare arms"...hypocritical.  Inconsistence & downright looney tunes.

I guess Doc Love won the war as he is carrying on with the relationship business.   I've never seen this type of thing happen before and needed somewhere to post.  Hopefully I'm not the only one that has noticed!  :-(

Last but not least, I think Coach Corey is the only self-help expert that treats me like a dick.  Go figure.  Someone takes the time & effort to leave a comment, only to have it deleted by him or his assistant.

@smd I'm glad I found your post. I began following Corey Wayne when I lost my girlfriend and was looking for answers. I searched the internet, found various "love gurus", but Corey was the one that made sense. I began applying the "7 principles to get an ex back". I got hooked on his videos, watched hundreds of them, bought his book and read it "10 to 15 times", like he says, and I began to realize all mistakes I was making when in a relationship.

BUT... I began to question some of his teachings. One day I read a terrible response he gave to some guy who made a comment in one of his youtube videos, and I thought "this guy s teaching self control, but he doesn't have any!". And some things he said in his book put you in a position of being to much available to people who mistreat you, and in my experience that doesn't work in "the street".

That was when I found Doc Love's The System. Corey mentions Doc's work on his book, and I bought it. And it was a surprise to me that many of the concepts used in Corey's book were ripped off from Doc's book! Even the title of Corey's book "3% Man" is a concept from Doc Love. There is a video where a person questions Corey how he found that only 3% of the man get women, and he made a terrible work trying to explain it.

So I began to study Doc's work, The Dating Dictionary, and his Aks Men articles. And he nails it! What I  missed in Corey's work, I found in Doc's work: the concept of challenge. But there is another difference in Doc's work: he says once a woman dumps you, you're out forever. She may contact you again, you may even start dating again and get married, but once the woman's interest level reaches 49%, she will never trully love you again. And that's why he says you can't go back.

But when you listen to Corey's work, 90% of his clients go to him trying to get and ex back! And that is what his business is all about: selling his coaching to guys who lost their girlfriends. An email response from him costs $500, an Skype session costs $1000. So as a business for him is a really bad idea to agree with Doc's philosophy that once your girl breaks up with you, you can't go back. If he admits to it, he will have no business.

Now back to Corey's videos: yesterday he finally posted a relationship video, about the "No contact rule". Once again, a client sent a letter trying to figure out how to get an ex back. I decided to write a comment, saying that Corey's videos and book changed the way I viewed relationships, but that I agreed with Doc's principle that once a girl's interest level reaches 49%, you are out forever.

Guess what happened to my video comment? Yep, it was erased.

That was when I searched the internet for any hint about Corey vs Doc Love, and I found your post.

Corey's work is great, but today it's clear to me that he ripped Doc's The System, and changed it, maybe to suit his business, or maybe because he never understood Doc's work 100%. But I still recommend his book, it's easier to read and understand, but if you want the real deal, download the system, listen to Docs audio, and read his old Ask Man articles.

As for me, I'm still on and off with my ex, she called me two weeks ago to say our relationship was the best thing ever, we made a date, and then she broke it. Going no contact again. I don't think I'll ever get her back, but it's been a great learning process :)

I'm just now reading this but thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay!  That's hilarious.  Yeah I don't know if Coach manages the comments section or not.  He says his assistant does..hahah, but who knows.  It's probably him.  He banned me from the comments section some time ago.  I was posting comments away & nothing was happening.  Found out after going in anonymously that he had my posts muted.  Pretty damn annoying.

Overall, Doc Love is pretty brutal.  He's so ruthless sometimes.  I once called in to tell him about this one date that went "sideways" and he stopped it right at the start: that it had been too long before she reached back out to me & that she was out already.  He didn't want to hear the rest.  But unlike CCW, Doc is banning me.  He took my call and answered it as best he could through his System filter.

I've never had much success with any of it but it did lead me to self-help and Leo's work.  I mean, I basically saw Leo's channel advertised at the end of a CCW video..and I was like "What is this..." hahaha..
