Well, the ego is a very powerful thing. I don't know about that shaman and demons, but what can bring the lasting relief except to be in harmony with the ego (that is to say, you and ego, then you, etc. etc. change to get along with eachother). There seems to be not way to get rid of ego or any of these things you talk about because all of this happens in the present moment; you are, egos are, experiences are, in the present!

You can't be broken...the ego tells you you are broken. The perception of it can get worse and better (relatively) but because it is only you, there is not really anything broken. There is a space in the cracks; the space of awareness.
