Business legal rights (how to sue proof your business?

3 posts in this topic

I'm starting a few projects this year related to my life purpose which is all about helping people with emotional issues such a depression, trauma, social anxiety, low self-esteem/lack of self-love issues and helping people like this find inner peace and wholeness.

I am starting a few workshop projects this year and I am wondering whether a simple disclaimer like this one below is enough to sue-proof my business? or do I need a Liability insurance as well? and if I need a liability insurance how much should I expect to pay for it? and is there anything else I should know about to help me with this?  (also is it enough to just write a disclaimer or dose the disclaimer need to be backed up by some sort of legal thing that i have no idea about?

this is the disclaimer iv created

Warning: these workshops are not intended to replace the service of a physician or a therapist. what I am providing is not medical advice. If you have any reason to be concerned about any of the content listed in this workshop then you should consult your physician before coming to the workshop. By coming to this workshop you agree to take 100% responsibility for any advice you follow, and you agree to waive any legal recourse against Miraculous Shiftz or Tom Thomson

(haha and yes i did copy the last part of the disclaimer from Leos forum guidelines where it says "you agree to take 100% responsibility for any advice you follow and agree to waiver and legal recourse against Miraculous Shiftz or Tom Thomson. (it didn't even occur to me i should make a disclaimer until i read Leos one for the forum aha !! cheers, Leo !!! :D would maybe and probably have got sued and became bankrupted in the future if I hadn't seen that !!!

I'm an absolute noob with all these technical legal nuances of business and I was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction?  :)
