Is The Big-Bang Real?

29 posts in this topic

I intellectually (not emotionally or religiously) don't get how someone can look at the Universe and think it came about on its own.

Some of you say: "nothing is something".

I say: "if nothing is something then nothing isn't nothing".

You can't have it both ways.

Nomatter how you slice it, there is no ground for the existence of the universe, what was here before the big bang, a singularity, well what was here before the singularity, a multiverse, where did the multiverse come from? on and on and on and on and on.........

We aren't able to detect any multiverse system.

It was an example, you might as well ask; where did I come from? Honestly, not through inference, where did you come from? If youre honest youd say you came  from/out of nothing too.

By definition, nothing is what's left when you remove everything. So it is still something, but only relative to what's been removed. So in a dualistic sense, nothing is the ground for everything. In a non-dualistic sense, nothing is actually everything, because it's not possible to remove anything; removal is a process which fragments. So in a non-dualistic universe everything can come out of nothing, because they are in fact the same. In a dualistic universe, nothing is the ground of everything. Both are equally as pleasing.

Anything you posit that created reality must, by definition, be part of reality, becauase reality is everything that is.

Reality could only have created itself because there is nothing outside reality.

There is nothing outside infinity. Inside/outside is a relative duality. Infinity does not have an inside and outside. It just is.

You CAN have it both ways! That's the nature of Infinity and nonduality! It is includes all opposites.

@Leo Gura

Would the question, "what is not reality" be a valid one?

I suppose the answer is: nothing.  But what is a nothing? The moment you ask that question, you can no longer be asking about nothing, because it would be a something. And a something can only be in reality.

That's right.

Reality has no opposite. Because its all-inclusiveness leaves no room for anything else.

If reality has no opposite, reality is not limitless.

False. Because it is limitless it can have no opposite.

But not being able to have an opposite is a limit, is it not?

Nope, it is ALL. ALL has no opposite.

"Is the big bang real?"

Maybe. Scientists seem to think so.

"Did the big bang create the universe?"

Maybe. Scientists seem to think so.

But then you gotta ask yourself, where did the big bang come from in the first place?

Everything comes forth from nothing. That nothingness is you.

@The Don For nothing to be nothing you can't say something about it , it's nothing , it is a strange loop . Logic fails here
