Insight on Stress

3 posts in this topic

Hello there,

I just had an insight with regard to stress.

The more you limit a space the more the pressure tends to increase in that space. We have stress (or anxiety) because we feel that we are limited entities. The more limited I feel the more anxiety I'll experience. The only way to escape our stressful lives is to realize the infinite dimension.

But how can I limit a space?

By putting objects inside that space.

What kind of object do I put into myself?

Well, mental objects: words. Words tend to limit the objects and therefore create boundaries. The more words you "dress" yourself with the more limited you feel and the more stressful you are.

What do you think about this ? Let me know! Thanks!

Very nice insight. I've thought of limited space as being "contracted". For example, a mind that is replaying a story about an ex-girlfriend can get contracted into the story. Thinking more and more about what she did and if I had only said such-and-such. . . Their world gets more and more contracted into a tight ball. I try to be aware of what contracts and what expands. And to let go of contraction and walk toward expansion.

Thank you!

I'd definitely agree with your rationale. When you mention 'contraction' I thought the muscles in the body contracted. That's another clue that we suffer from stress. If we wanna move towards expansion then we also need to relax our bodies, don't you think ?
