Is this technique counterproductive ?

Every 10 minutes, I try to remember in detail what I've just been doing. 

Am I leaving the present moment, by doing this or am I becoming more aware ?

Well, if you're reminding yourself every 10 minutes to do that, that itself takes mindfulness! So yeah sure, that counts is mindfulness.   xD

as @Serotoninluv said, stay mindful in the present moment - lose the trying and remembering ;)

@Yolusef This is very likely neurotic. Go with the flow instead.

Nature doesn't interrupt its flux. Do you see dogs stopping every once in a while to "be aware" (whatever that means) of what they're doing?
