I have some spare time so I was thinking why not make some pocket money for my travels. What's the best way?

Some website pay you for submitting articles. You can study a certain textbook and work as tutor on chegg and list your domain of expertise. There are websites that pay you for watching advertisements. You can invest some of your money in stocks of a stable company like coca cola or mcdonalds and leave to compound  or make your bets on some companies and sell quickly to make extra. You can sign up for credit card memberships for airlines to receive free miles which you can use for your first free roundtrip flight to the place you want to go. some websites pay you to be a moderator on shifts. You can design some tshirts and sell them on Amazon VBA

Freelance gigs are probably the simplest way to start. Although the market is flooded and pay usually isn't that good unless you've got some really good technical skills to offer.
