I was screwed by the alt-right movement

17 posts in this topic

I bought the whole package, the globalist conspiracy, the sionist conspiracy, the evil bank elite conspiracy, Migration as a tool for the elites to gain power and money, as a "rule and conquer"-tactics. The lgbt as a political tool to destroy families and homogeneity etcetera .

No wonder I was mad with the world, those 4chan forums, Breitbart and all local message boards along with the alt right twitter elite manage to fool me into thinking they was right.

I never thought I could be brainwashed, I even believed the most insane things like the jewish conspiracy and things like that.

I was nuts, but I'm on my way back now.

It's very strange because I use to be the rational one with capacity for critical and abstract thinking. But I swallowed everything in the alt-right narrative.

I ended up as a train wreck after all my hate on lefties, feminist, lgbt, socialist, communists, cultural marxists etcetera, I thought all of that was evil, that's how brainwashed I was.

Now how can I put this behind and be the friendly and sane Markus again?

@MarkusSweden I've felt with politics that the most important thing is to not get caught up in reactionary extremes. Like some parts of the left are anti free speech and unreasonable but that doesn't mean I'm gonna start talking about gassing Jews. And if there's a massive income inequality in a society I'm not gonna just then support communism. I feel like most of these unhealthy movements are in response to something else which is unhealthy, but the movement always go too far.

Hark ye yet again — the little lower layer. All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event — in the living act, the undoubted deed — there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough.

@MarkusSweden it’s good to see this; you can now move to the “left” and stay there for a while, until you realise that is just as delusory as the “right”

When you are fed up with the dichotomies you will move into the place that people here call “Yellow”

You may want to see if there's a refreshing view on things you would enjoy in life. For example when people who after a disability learn to walk again they benefit from musical activities while learning to walk because it activates more of their brain and creates connections. When coming from a very stubborn and closed mindset, if you enjoy anything that you could connect your experiences to, or find things that take you a step into a different direction from how you used to think, it'll get easier.

Who knows if this was a theme you were to integrate next anyway, the very harsh hatefulness and stubbornness. Maybe you did a really good job getting lost so you can be even more clear about it when you feel like you're on a good level again. And I mean you might already be, but I've just been through a similar phase with different context so I thought I'd share this stuff

I am Muslim. I have been watching the alt-right and guess what? the Alt-righters have exactly the same mentality and all values of radical Muslims who also hate lefties, feminists, LGBT, socialists and communists but different labels. The values that made Europeans kill each other in Millions. Imagine if those millions of beautiful people were alive? I am so ashamed of what some of deeply blue stage Muslims doing in Sweden. Not all of us Muslims are accepting of what they do. More Muslims like me are connecting with other humans like You. We notice that we have the same inner issues, same fears, worries, we are almost as if we from the exact same mother and father. In future, more Muslims are going to be nationalistic swedes and integrate in society and let their kids be who they want to be and you may have Muslim wife. In fact Sweden is greatly and positively represented in Muslim world.

MEDITATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make it to a routine to always listen to both sides of an argument - especially if one side provokes you.

Instead of having opinions about stuff - allow yourself not to know.

You got to Figure out what made that particular movement attractive to you. I can only give you generalised opinion on them but in order to reverse their mentality you got to know they key aspect that made that point of view valuable to you to reverse the process.

The collective shadow is rising right now in the form of all the Alt-Right kind of stuff. It's a reaction against the integration of the Divine Feminine, that attempts to keep that integration at bay.

It all rides on average men believing that they will have power and be happy if we revert back to earlier times before so called "political correctness". So, the movement rides on the backs of vulnerable men with low self-esteem, who feel powerless in their own lives. So, the Alt-Right creates scapegoats to blame for this powerless feeling, and an ideology that promises to allow those men to take their power back.

This is all couched in ideas that have been dolled up to look more benign than what they are. So, they say anti-feminist conspiracy as opposed to anti-woman. They say anti-globalism as opposed to keeping those foreigners out. They say anti-Jewish conspiracy as opposed to anti-Semitic. That way, these vulnerable men won't realize that they're getting involved in Fascism by another name.

And when those people in the Alt-Right victimize others... it's not seen as victimization at all. In fact, they see the Alt-RIght has as the place where victims gather against those powerful women and minorities that seek to strip the rights from white men. So, any act of indiscretion and violence is deserved because they have been doing the same things.... haven't they?

That's how this group works. They take vulnerable people who feel powerless. Then they blame that powerlessness on global elites who use women, minorities, and LGBT communities as their "freedom-hating" pawns. So, those powerless feeling people can use them as a scapegoat for all their anger and hatred. Then, they use this to attack the freedoms/power of those women, minorities, and LGBT communities... and eventually will take the same from the very people who supported them while they got into power.

That's how Fascism has always been able to work. The Nazis felt like they were victims too, against the so-called Jewish elite.

Only care for yourself. Do not join any cause as its not worth it. Meditate and stay away from social media for a while. These toxic websites of both sides of the groups are very toxic and conditioning, which can be harder to get rid of once conditioning input itself into You. This is why MGTOW movement exist because they can use few incident of women who are mentally unstable and capitalize on them to scare other guys off dating and marriage.  MEDIA always exaggerates stuff and they can make it as scary as possible with dark ambient music and font and emotional display and plead for help and demonization to gain viewers and make more money. Websites like Alt-right and PUA can make feel less manly and thereby become misognystic always have your mind nagging you to prove your masculinity and thus you become very aggressive with others especially females.

I would say a revolution, although a weak one. Movement would imply a goal or goals if so what?

Conservationism is still born. Completely destroyed as a viable force. Leaving socialism and a massive power vacuum. Temporarily filled by Trump in the USA. Demographically can Red & blue go faster to orange, than orange to green and yellow. Given in flow and birth rates, I would say no. Red and blue were destroying orange in Europe(still probably are) up until 50 years a go. Well populations have trebled in many third world countries.

listen to anyone on the net, as long as they have a "snazzy" website, at least once and sometimes without.

I try to think of things on the Internet as an RPG with respawn, not get too attached. Personally I think Whiggism (Proto- Classical Liberal) or no politics would be best, but that ain't happening in a democracy/oligarchy(with mass tribal preference) or in the modern world with massive lobbying.

I like to follow Tai Lopez's philosophy on ingesting media and information on worldly events.

If there is anything "crazy" happening in the news then most likely one of his friends will tell him about it.

Falling to far into the media news cycle is a prescription for paranoia and outrage.

The media is a tool used to sow fear and discontent into the populace. They are used solely to divide us so that the people f*cking us at the top remain in power. So take everything they say with not only a grain of salt but maybe a whole pound of salt.

As to the alt-right continuum... I think the alt-right is but a small yet vocal minority of what actually represents the true laissez faire attitude of most people you would consider right wing. I think the Trump movement (populism) has not been the disaster that the media has labeled it to be. Hell from every measurable metric (employment, crime, economic growth) all are trending in a positive direction.

Mayhaps I am wrong but I do believe there is a sizable amount of people on the left who claim to stand for tolerance and open mindedness but end up being everything but the very thing for which they profess. The amount of riots, crime, and anarchy that has spilled onto the streets during these so called "peaceful" protests are beyond disturbing.

The problem is there is no nuance in every form of discussion. Everything is white and black. Right or wrong. There is no grey area in which to contextualize what is the actual issue.

At the end of the day FACTS ARE FACTS regardless of how the human spirit or human emotion chooses to interpret them.

I agree the sentiment that MGTOW is far to removed but I have an understanding as to why these movements exist. Some women (as do some men) simply refuse to take personal responsibility in their lives. The perpetuation of fallacies like rape culture, metoo, and toxic masculinity have pushed men away (and for good reason.) By the current standard that the court of public opinion reigns supreme even to that of the court of law.

It takes only a single woman to say that she was violated to essentially tarnish a man's reputation forever.

That is not to say that women who are truly abused/raped/sodomized by men shouldn't speak out on the contrary. I think that any man who would lay a hand on a woman in such a way should be buried under the prison.

I think many of these conduits would even fail to exist if fatherless homes weren't so prevalent. Women initiate over 75% of divorces. This splits homes and oft time men receive 20% or less in custody battles. The majority of the prison system is a conglomerate of men and women who came from fatherless and/or broken homes. I think the absence of fathers at home has created a lot of this mess.

I applaud you for being so open minded especially given your background as a Muslim.

Just as there needs to be a more open minded debate in the alt right there also needs to be a more open minded debate regarding the religion of Islam.

I truly do believe that the Islamic faith needs a great awakening similar to that of Christianity between the 18th and late 20th century. There are great swaths of Muslims who still believe that gays/lgbt should be put to death because of their lifestyles. A recent pole in the United Kingdom showed that of the Muslims poled in London 100% (yes 100%) believed that gays shouldn't be allowed to marry and 53% believed the act itself should be illegal (as in punished by law.)

I think the alt-right movement is a bi-product of not only an attack on white identity but also a answer to the rising tensions in Europe from the mass integration of people who do not share similar sensibilities in life.

I personally find all religion a redundant mess that causes more suffering then it actually heals but that is for another topic.

Back to the alt-right premise. There will always be radicals on either side of the debate. I personally believe that we all have more in common then we believe. That if the world came together and over threw the true powers that be we could all live in peace and prosperity.

For f*ck sake it is 2018 and we still haven't solved world hunger. We should be traveling space together not lashing at each others throats.

At the end of the day we can argue (peacefully) and all keep our sovereignty. We must grow together (alt right, muslims, far left, mgtow, libertarians, communists, whatever!) to see that we are all human beings.

@Emerald I think there is quite some truth to what you say. I think both left and right fall quite too easily into victim mentality. I think who ever paints the picture of "I am a victim and they are the evil ones" should be watched very closely, may it be the alt right blaming the women and transsexuals, as well as the extreme sjw blaming men and the patriarchy.

I think the balance is hard to find. I think it is also very hard to see where real injustices are and where they are not. I think some questions dont have such easy answers as people want you to believe.

I think the  current systems has many good qualities and many flaws. Nontheless, its not a inherently bad system that should be just thrown away, because at the moment we don't have anything better. That doesn't mean change cant be introduced and tried where it seems necessary.

I think the wave of the reintroduction of feminine energy misused by a number of people, painting the whole movement in a bad light and I think much of the "shadow" you describe rallying against that finds it hard to distinguish the movement from the abusers.

I think both feminine AND masculine energy are in a bad place at the moment. I think I should maybe read some feminists books with an open mind to see that side, just as Im reading a book from the manosphere to see "my own" side.

This is really complicated stuff and there is no cookie cutter answer.

@Shroomdoctor I think looking at this in terms of left and right can muddy the waters a bit. We tend to have the idea that if there is a dichotomy of some sort that it's 'only right' to seeks some kind of middle ground. This is called the "middle ground fallacy."

But if you go issue by issue, and not look at it by the metric of the "goodness" or "badness" of all people in either "side", you'll see very clearly which policies and tendencies are healthier for society and more in alignment with he common good. And these should always be supported no matter which group identity they fall under without regard to giving equal weight to both sides... as in reality there are no two sides.

I think there is always an attempt to sort of pull the punches when it comes to criticizing the negatives of one group and feeling like you need to make it equal to the other group to be fair and democratic. But this is not so. Some ideas are inherently less healthy for society and will bear out negative results for people.

But I will say that the feminine energy hasn't shown itself really in this whole thing... despite it gradually trickling in over the past century or so. Right now we just have masculine destroyers of the barriers to the feminine. And masculine fortifiers of the barriers to the feminine. So, regardless of which side, it's important to "side" with the ones who are actively removing those barriers, regardless of our ideas of which side we believe has the most "personality flaws." It's not about personality flaws or who seems more reasonable or likable... it's about supporting things that will help the greater good.

That is the thing, the way I see it the "rightness" of ideas are quite distributed between different viewpoints.

'I ended up as a train wreck after all my hate on lefties, feminist, lgbt, socialist, communists, cultural marxists etcetera, I thought all of that was evil, that's how brainwashed I was. '

It looks like you're feeling frustrated because your needs for authenticity and inner peace weren't being met by doing this?

'Now how can I put this behind and be the friendly and sane Markus again?'

I think practicing self compassion could be of benefit.
Empathise with the pain you're in and the psychological conditions that may have lead you to doing and saying the things you did; you're human and you make mistakes, we all do and it's OK :)

It may be beneficial to try watching and thinking about these resources to understand what self compassion is, how it works and why it is important.

After these i think you could benefit from trying out the guided meditations under 'practices' here and finding which ones work for you and doing one each day.

https://self-compassion.org/

Trying out the self compassion exercises as many times as you need to, also under 'practices' could be useful.

It may be of utility to ask:

What happened? ('observable with a video camera' things you/others said and did)

How do i feel about this?
(This inventory may be of help if you get stuck https://www.cnvc.org/Training/feelings-inventory)

What needs was i trying to get met with what i did and said?
EG: a sense of meaning? Self worth? Acceptance from others? Community? Emotional safety? Respect? Order in your mind and external world? Understanding the world?
(This inventory may be of help if you get stuck https://www.cnvc.org/Training/needs-inventory)

What concrete observable actions could i request of myself to help me meet these needs in a way that would be more preferable in the future?

I wish you all the best in your healing.

----------------------

PS:i also wrote this.

You could see this as a valuable set of experiences from which to draw wisdom.

From my perspective it looks like you had an experience of being in an ideological mindset (this could be a beneficial experience for when you may be looking to examine how ideology works in the future and when reflecting on your own cognitive biases in any future personal development)

It seems you also may have heard arguments and perspectives many other people may not have heard from which you could carefully extract slithers of possible truth.
