It will be cool, but what's the deeper use? On our journey from one country to another it may help, but for our journey from unconsciousness to consciouness it most likely won't.

@DizIzMikey For me it feels the same. Probably in 20-30 years. There will be many things coming up that will completly shake the avergage conscious understanding of the masses. Things like contact with extraterrestial beings, communication via thoughts etc. We're accelerating at tremendous speed. Just my humble feeling.

My concern with teleportation is this: we may find a way to teleport the body but will the conscious-awareness go with it? Or will we end up with a lifeless or unconscious vegetable at the other end? And what would happen if you separated the conscious-awareness from the body anyway?

And what if the only way to teleport the body was to create a copy of it at the destination and then destroy the original? So the copy lives on as you but the 'you' that started out would cease to exist.
