Spiral Dynamics Stage Green Examples Mega-Thread

@Leo Gura That doesn't sound very "mean green" to me tbh. I was expecting something much worse. Perhaps little disrespectful, especially to the eyes of a blue conservative, but she had a lot of good arguments to make.

Greta Thunberg. Need we say more? She's like a pure incarnate of Green. There is nothing Orange or Yellow in her, just Green.

It reminds me to ask for the Gods to please never let me become a stereotype of any Spiral stage.

Just watched "I Am Greta" documentary. Very intimate portrait of her journey. Great access by the filmmaker.

@Rilles Actually, I'm wondering if one really needs to be at stage green to accept the basic science of sex and gender. A scientifically minded, rational person (orange) shouldn't really be triggered by the fact that gender is a spectrum. Getting mad at science when it contradicts traditional world views seems like more of a stage blue thing. But I guess stage green people might be more readily accepting of the idea? I'm not really sure. I'd love to get some input from others on this.

Good point... Hold my post lightly by your fingertips and do some contemplation on it. I will too. :) These LGBTQ issues are quite difficult. All I know is Blue in 99% hate it. Orange is more difficult to pin-point.

This is a great example of someone (Bill Nye) evolving from Orange to Green. And it's super helpful in pulling up low Orange.

Notice how he states that Blue level binary constructs are too simple and becomes grounded in Orange - spectral thinking and physical aspects (such as chromosomes and hormones). He then starts to touch about the relativity and fluidity on gender identity - yet just a touch.

It's also clear that he is not at a Yellow level integrating Orange science with Green relativity. These are new discoveries for him - he mentions them as new insights he finds interesting. We can draw a distinction here with someone like Deepak Chopra that has Tier2 metacognition and is looking from 'above'.

Stage blue is a binary either male or female. . . Either gay or straight. Stage Orange can see spectrums along a continuum. Yet at Orange, this continuum is generally based more on physical. Orange has a harder time seeing spectrums in immaterial, relative contexts. As well, they may have some resistance since Orange is self-centered and they may interpret relativity as threatening to their self.

Yeah, those Orange that want to get pulled up. Orange entering phase tends to have alot of aversion to LGBTQ ideas as being icky. Remember Blue/Orange men are still very stuck in the Toxic Masculinity paradigm. As we see from the dislike/like ratio most people get scared when Bill starts even mentioning these sorts of "radicaaal" ideas. Bill seems to have been hanging around the right people and he seems pretty open-minded, will be interesting to see him evolve.

@Rilles Yea, there is a lot of distance between low Orange and high Orange. Sometimes SDers get sloppy with distinctions and group them together.

@Forestluv do you mean low orange in the sense toxic orange?

I'm referring to less developed / immature Orange. This can be expressed as toxic though.

Each stage has an entering/PEAK/decline phase, which you could also write blue/orange   ->   ORANGE   ->  orange/green.

In the entering phase Orange looks like the most amazing perspective, something completely new, you might be so enthralled by it you get lost in for years or your entire life.

Decline is more like, "Hm...  this lifestyle/values Isn't doing it for me anymore... what else is there?"

...and remember its just a model so it might not look exactly like this in real life, ballparkin.
