Eckharts "New earth" was good, It had ego mentioned in every sentence I red It pretty long time ago, but It's still on top of best books.

Use the term "non-duality" in your search. Non-duality kind of punches the ego in the face. haha

I am reading "The Yoga of Consciousness" by SsntataGamana at the moment and it has some very good explanations of what ego is and how it works.
