What's the most important method to grasp all of reality?

Is it to focus on going out there and learning from different sources, viewing as many perspectives as possible and reading books?

Or is it to contemplate deeply and ignore all reality?

I know both are important, both are enumerated by Leo, but if you had to choose one, which is it?
