Meditation full lotus

Personally I have found the full lotus position or padmasana while meditating amazing! I used to be only able to meditate for 15/30mins before getting very bad back pain from just crossed legged position, but now I feel more stable and easier to keep good posture! Try it! It took many many months of stretching to do it but worth it!

I've just started Iyengar yoga, so really soon I'll be able to do this too! Yay for us :)

It was created by BKS Iyengar who in his life decided to not learn yoga asanas through any books or teachers, but to instead teach himself through direct experience. His yoga is a mixture of hatha yoga (asanas) and pranayama (breathe control) and just resonated with me, so I trusted that and followed the bread trail so to speak. It is intended to help open up the energetic pathways in the physical body, build muscle tone, hep blood circular to all the cells in our body, and build self-discipline; it helps my physical body feel great and make it feel loose. Any exercise will do this of course to varying degrees like classical pilates, or walking even
