Maybe I had an enlightenment experience

4 posts in this topic

I was looking at this video about the relationship between bipolar disorder and enlightenment:

I'm diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and I had similar experiences, including wanting to give love to people. I would feel that everything was connected and I was very sensitive about everything. I was able also to read people's thoughts, but at those moments it was very scary. During these anomalous experiences, childhood traumas emerged as well and I felt a lot of suffering. I'm more aware of what those experiences meant and I think if I face the healing process, I will have a better life.

@brugluiz I'm not a medical professional nor do I know exactly what you experienced but it sounds like you may have experienced something similar to an enlightenment experiance. When you said It felt as if "everything was connected" is a sure sign.

YES!

I'm diagnosed as schizophrenic and I know EXACTLY what you're saying.

You feel as if the voices that you hear are in direct connection with the universe.

Let me tell you, that is not exactly true.

I feel as if I've reached "enlightenment" a few times while meditating. The voices that you hear is a direct connection of what YOU are hearing, not what anyone else is hearing you think or what they are thinking you hear (if that makes sense). It's almost like a radio, sometimes you hear screaming and sometimes you hear muted voices. The voices I hear are direct WHOLE conversations that I can hear all day and communicate back and forth with in my mind. In more detail, I just talk to my voices all day. Yes, It's SCARY sometimes, but somehow I'm able to mute out the bad things and focus on the positive. Being creative is the key point, if you see visuals...imagine like a "radio dial" is in your mind and just turn it completely down to mute voices. Try thinking in parts of your mind where you don't hear things. Try learning new conscious tricks and tips to shut voices down. Meditation is KEY, I tend to use a process where I direct voices into my ear and not any place else then imagine the smallest part of my ear where I store them while allowing myself to reach certain chakras. Don't allow yourself to feel tricked into what your voices say or do. Always allow your mind to take command of what your hearing, simple trick. Goto guides or find someone to talk to that will understand you.

Hearing voices and seeing hallucinations is not easy and it's almost like your having a direct experience with either God or the Devil.

If you ever need anyone to talk to message me. :)

Thank you :)

I never had hallucinations due to psychosis. I just had dellusions. I'm studying more about what psychosis may mean. Maybe it's a sane response to insane conditions. I'm also aiming to study Carl Jung and Stan Grof materials. They have even a mystical approach to psychosis.
