I'm Feeling Anxious When I Practice Visualization

4 posts in this topic

Hello guys.

I'm working on my subconscious mind. I want to remove the old negative beliefs.

I recently read the book Psycho Cybernetics and I watched this video.

Sometimes when I put myself in certain situations I feel anxiety. For example, I imagine myself talking with lots of people or talking in public on a stage with a big crowd.

When I do these exercises I feel anxiety in the area of my stomach.

Is this OK? I do these exercises every single day.

Me on the road less traveled.

Hi TheDon Do you feel anxiety when you do any visualization exercise or only when you visualize speaking in front of a crowd? In the case that you feel anxiety when thinking about speaking in public, I find that anxious feeling comes from the fear of being rejected and hurting our 'self image'. If you can let go of the need to look good while speaking in public, and have only one goal of saying your message regardless the response, then the anxiety will dissolve.

Cheers!

It's good in the sense that your visualizations are real enough to create a physiological response. But visualizing yourself failing is antithetical to the goal. You want to be imagining yourself excited, passionate and overall crushing it.
