Does Leo play chess?

7 posts in this topic

As an avid chess player myself, I've noticed Leo uses lots of chess references from his older to newer videos. I'm just curious to see if Leo did play and has no time for it now or just knows the chess references from playing casually, or is a the first enlightened grandmaster!

Also if you do play Leo, we should have a game lol.

@Cody_Atzori Hey. I just found a Chinese chessboard in my family home. I consider myself a Chinese soul, and this chessboard really resonated with me. I was wondering, is Chess a good game to take up? What are the benefits that you have noticed in your own experience regarding Self Actualisation? Cheers!

@St Clair  Yes. I highly recommend it, as its not just fun but a very engaging brain strengthener. like meditation, it helps build your brain to become more wiser and alert. I'm not saying this is a replacement, but if you are habitually meditating and playing chess you'll become much smarter and mentally skilled. This is because meditation trains your mind to cease control and become more aware while chess trains the mind about adaption and logical desicions making. Meaning you're calm from meditation and able to think coherently from your chess experience. Here's a list of the benefits it's given me

- Better memory

- Better at visualisation

-Better at making descsions

-Better at mathematics

-More skeptical of what others tell me

-Think more independently and critically

When you're able to calculate and visulaise moves on a chessboard, it helps you calculate and visulaise your desicions in real life and all its advantages and weaknesses.

It's interesting because life can be analogized as a chess game. A battle against your higher and lower self. With every move being a habit, goal or experience you acheive. Your lower self will plant obstacles and traps in order to fuel it's low conscious desires and you need to calculate 10 moves ahead to see that if you go down this route you'll have waisted 10 years of tail chasing. So you need to be cognizant and skeptical. Taking the opponent's rook is like getting rid of a core limiting beleif. If your opening is weak, you'll need to recover in the middle game. Like If you waisted time in high school and collage, you're contrite will be in control and you'll need to be more tactical and offensive.

There's no harm in chess unless you're literally playing and thinking about it all day. That's only feeding your autistic mind, which will become a neurotic addiction.

@Cody_Atzori Hey thanks so much for the detail! It's weird, because my spirit brother Josiah just uploaded this video TODAY! ( Oh how I love synchronicity's :)

Definitely a sign that I need to start playing chess!

@St Clair Join chess.com its a great site but watch out it can easily become an addiction when you learn deeper things about the game, and it could be just a distraction from real work so idk everything in moderation

There is nothing safe with playing it safe.

Just read an article about how chess is one way to increase one's IQ. Fun stuff.

The kingdom of heaven is within.
