(Near) ego death experience at night

I remember something crazy happened today mid REM sleep:

I was having some random dream when, for some reason, the non-dual notion that parts are whole and the whole is of parts. Next thing I know, everything just collapses into oneness and all I saw was something like this:

(Although it was much more complex.)

Intense fear woke me up and I was buzzing all over. A moment later I lost consciousness again.

This is not the first time I've had a panic attack at night and felt like I was gonna die, but this one stood out. I think it's a sign of cleansing.

Any thoughts?
