The problem with thinking about my own death.

Visualizing something attracts it. Thus, visualizing death would attract death and make my lifespan shorter.

If I often visualized dying early, my lifespan could be shortened. This is bad for living long enough to see the results of my work.

For example, Steve Jobs would want to be alive to see how apple is doing nowadays. He would want to burst out of his grave. He said he visualized death often. Perhaps, is it the reason that he died early?

That will give you some motivation to live now.

Nobody die before his days. Some many people desired death but never died. Your ego is simply very afraid. You simply submit your will to the absolute infinity and trust that in visualizing death you will give you new life and death is merely deception and You can't die at all. You can physically die but never die at all. Ask people who found enlightenment, there is no emptiness after death, there is life in different form not the usual one you know. Place your trust in the absolute infinity/god/reality/allah/Yahweh/most high and know that its omnipresent and its consciousness that is present now and always and knows everything. This conscious power that made everything is taking care of you until your current age and protected you throughout your life. Just seek refuge in it from your demon(Ego). Your pain in life is from your demon not from the conscious cosmic power universal absolute omnipresent omnipotent power. You are simply it and Your demon(ego) is trying to hold you back from going back to this immensely beautiful consciousness known as god, I call him Allah by my tradition. @Your place at Heart There are many exceptions. In poor regions, many people die young due to hunger or disease. During wars, a lot of people die. Many people never have their days until death because they are lazy.

@CreamCat Well, You know nobody plays any role different to what he is assigned by the higher force. Your fear of death is understandable. In the book the top five regrets of the dying by bronnie ware, she is an assistant nurse that helps dying people. she watched so many people die that she became fearless of death. Death is a topic shunned completely by western culture and embraced by many eastern cultures. Death is never talked about at all. Look at documentary in philippines where homeless people live in graveyard with dying and are not afraid at all.

Most western individuals are terribly afraid of death and they act like gods and you can see that clearly in behavior of westerners. Many western government go hysterically if some terrorist act happend and go great length in killing millions in other countries and destabilizing their governments whenever one person dies in the west.

The solution is? Develop a mantra and read stoic books like the shortness of life by seneca and marcus aurellius

Mantra: Death is beautiful, life is beautiful, life is temporary, death is temporary. 

everyday you can tame your ego so that it won't give you a super backlash in form of binge eating, excessive libido, emotional distress, super sleepiness, mental fog....etc ways your ego fight back.

@Your place at Heart Shit. Children are stomping on tombstones. I wouldn't want to be buried where children will be stomping on my tombstone. Can't people find better places for the homeless?

Perhaps, my tomb should be a cryonic container where employees are watching so that no children are ruining my tomb.

Reminds me of Aladdin.. I don't know if you can visualize yourself to the grave. LOL
