What you know about Feng Shui

A friend of mine is remodelling her appartment and she's dead serious about using feng shui calculations and told me a lot of stories about her friends who did the same and now they moved up in their career, have better sleep/energy levels, better health and economics in general etc. You know the kind of situations "a friend of a friend" told me which you can't go ask . . . What's your take on this or better if you have any personal experience it would be great. Is it a legit thing or the next american bastardisation of orential cultures?
