Stage Fright

Ok so in my room I am a concert pianist. When I play in front of people I am a grade 1 or beginner level pianist. Shaking and sweaty hands, heart pumping fast, getting cold or supper tense from feet to head, etc. Sounds familiar? 

Stage Fright or Performance Anxiety. What is it? What is the solution? Why do I play so well in my bedroom and so bad in auditions, concerts, playing for friends and family etc? This is affecting my career.

 

It also applies to other instruments, stand up comedy, actors, speakers, etc.
