What Is The Intuition And How Does It Work?

17 posts in this topic

My experience of the intuition is quite amazing, it seems to be a part of the mind that defies all logic. What is your intuition like? How does it work? How do you use it? How do you explain such a thing as being possible?

For me, intuition is very important concept. It's like a channel, tube through which one, true reality (with all the right solutions and answers) is leaking to our egoistic minds. Looking at it like this, from the conscious level, allows to separate stiff (neurotic) thoughts from the fresh ones. Intuition speaks to us all the time, however it's so silent, that often, we can barely hear it through everyday noise in our minds . Everybody uses it, but often unconscious, while conceptualizing it allows to perceive more of what it brings.

Excellent, I didnt want to say too much about my own experience of intuition so that I could get someone elses view without talking about my own first. But Im so glad to hear its exactly the same! It responds as a voice for me that I can ask a question to. It responds in a quiet way but if I follow its advice I never regret it. Its advice is not logical but seems to take into account the fucture as though it had reviewed all posibilities first before instantly responding. Its like a search engine but instead of having millions answers it had only one, the best answer. It is hard to remember to use it though because I know its advice is perfect but that its advice also gets in the way of my little objectives the identity has me involved it. I have gotten so used to thinking the ego is going to set my logical objectives that an illogical perfect suggestion is at times scary because I might be an ass and decide not to follow it. ( Keep typing) (OK) One day I was thinking I want to write about this phenomenon in this forum, I better test it out first. I was leaving the kitchen giong upstairs, and I asked [what should I do?¨ it said ¨go back into the kitchen. ¨I was resistant thinking, what I just left the Kitchen.¨ but I went back and realized I had left the burner on, while distracted. Another time I was walking around and said¨where should I go?¨ ¨Turn left here.¨ It said. I objected to myself, theres nothing down this street I want to see. But I went anyway. A few blocks later I ran into an old friend and it was really important. So its really magical to use this once the identities importance is softened up. Other observations I wanted to share. The intuitions quietness fades away the more it is used. It becomes more loud and easy to access with use, or we just get better at hearing it. Also it does trick you at times which helps you overcome the egos grip by outsmarting the egos games. I find this type of advanced help happens when I ask its advice and follow it a few times in a row. I found an inspiring video that helps describe it on youtube the channel is called The Diamond Net. What she calls wisdom I was calling intuition.

@Kevin Dunlop Thank you for watching and posting my video. :) Just a disclaimer, it was my first one so the production quality is very shoddy.

I never listen to my intuition because it's always leading me to growth, but my underdeveloped mind is always running from the discomfort of growth. However, when I listen it never fails me. I used to call it the higher part of myself, prior to having any concept of what intuition was. Everyone knows what that higher part of themselves would do at any given moment, but few actually listen. It's so much easier to ignore it than it is to listen, but in my experience it's like a snowball effect. The more I listen, the easier it is to hear it; whereas the more I ignore it, the harder it is to hear it. We all have that intuition at all times, but it's often been silenced because it tells us to do things that are emotionally difficult and logic defying.

. Great to hear your reply infinit. Yesterday I was posting more about it and there seems to be a real universal type of description here between us. Really exciting for me to get some feedback on this amazing mystery. And see the syncronicity of what we both wrote in two different sites, heres part of my description.

Someone did confirm that they experience it much like we do. Here is how I described my experience and learning about it - For me Intuition responds as a voice that I can ask a question to. I have gotten so used to thinking the ego is going to set my logical objectives that an illogical yet perfect suggestion is at times scary because I might be an ass and decide not to follow it. ( Keep typing) (OK) One day I was thinking, ¨ I want to write about this phenomenon in this forum, I better test it out first. I was leaving the kitchen going upstairs, and I asked ¨what should I do?¨ it said ¨go back to the kitchen. ¨I was resistant thinking, ¨What? I just left the Kitchen.¨ but I went back and found out I had left the burner on, while distracted. Another time I was walking around and said¨where should I go?¨ ¨Turn left here.¨ It said. I find this type of advanced help happens when I ask its advice and follow it a few times in a row. So a note about knowledge then- Knowledge is dualistic, word based information one can collect that is about your particular identities perspective on reality. Hmm that sounds pretty limiting put this way. The identity values knowledge because it uses it to support its positions and objectives. It can do this because it filters, edits and ignores or even hides certian knowledge. Knowledge is about your time and place and perspectives. Wisdom is universal, has no limits with linear time It is advice that you dont want to ignore but doesnt get upset if you do. It just calculates new advice depending on whatever you chose to do. There is no way I created it, it goes against my logical objectives with better directions that humble me totally. Anyway let me know about your opinion. Does anyone want to try to explain why we have it and where it comes from?

Yes, I wanted to review your videos to get to know more about your perspectives. So I started with the first one you see. Turns out I really liked it and got to feel a connection with this discussion here about intuition which really intrugues me but wasnt moving yet. The more I know about it the more feel amazed. I mean really Why do we have something so powerful and mysterious and so not paid attension to?

Discovering this was really one of the most amazing things about the experiences that I had. It was like I was in touch with everything that there was to know... but it was also utilitarian in that it only really gave me what I needed in that moment. But it was very clear that there was a connection to all the wisdom that I needed to know as a human being and that I had always had this connection and always known it. So, it was amazing to discover this but I also knew that it had always been there. The only reason why I think this is so hidden (although I don't know) is because this enables that which is infinite oneness and perfection to experience finite-ness, separation, and imperfection. But this is just a guess really.

Mmm Hmm, Thanks for the input on this. Iam glad you are as amazed as I am, makes me feel understood. I did have an idea about it too while you were writing out yours Emerald. This intuitional wisdom deals with a profound truth unlike the ego whos dual concepts can never really be about truth. It is hidden because it does not serve the ego, and our ego dominated state doesnt need a tool that doesnt serve ego. We are too egotistical to notice things that dont serve ego. I was sad thinking this but it does sound simple enough to be an answer. :)

That makes a lot of sense. I think this is probably why adults are seldom in touch with this "stream of wisdom" as much as a child is. A child hasn't fully developed a coherent world-view and has an openness to experience so they haven't labeled things dualistically yet. So, life isn't about following ego rules yet, and thus they are more in touch with intuition.

I dont remember hearing the intuition as a voice as a kid, but I do remember being very different, uninhibited about logic, and rules enforced by others. Trusting in my own ideas and able to ride along on the wave of my creative energy where ever it wanted to flow. A kind of trust in unconscious improvising with a hyperawareness . The ego slowly builds up though and it doesnt imporvise, it oversimplifies things and cements what it calls ¨normal or right¨ interpretations and reactions into this rediculous dictionary of responses. I get the feeling that society pound so hard on us with its dictionary of rules that we allow the ego to takeover trusting it is going to help. We dont have the ability to analyze it for a long time so it slowly becomes our autopilot. Expectations on us wear us down until we give in. Thats what they call growing up I guess. Not many of these adults like adults who are like kids. They interpret this as being naive or stupid or their favorite, irresponsable! They dont let you do even basic nonego things let alone have a magical power that always tells you to tell them to fuck off! Hahahah. Well, kids for me now a big inspiration, the best thing to do is trust them. Ouch, soo illogical are my views, but I have really tried living alot of illogical beliefs and its much better.

I was thinking about this concept yesterday Emerald, the idea that I didnt hear the voice of intuition as a kid. Why not? I think our exceptance of ego transformed our direct experience of authentic reality into the intuition, a small voice experience, that talks about  true reality.

(I dont remember hearing the intuition as a voice as a kid, but I do remember being very different, uninhibited about logic, and rules enforced by others. I started to understand why the intuition is a small voice for us. Unlike my previous hypothetical explanation, which was spurred by some videos and in a funny way Matt Kahn´s video about ¨all of the masters joining together as one to serve us¨. No I dont think its that. I believe the intuition is just the inspiration of interacting with true reality itself. It comes from me it is my authentic experience- thats hard to explain. But I wanted to share why is it a voice.

The identity is made up of words, learned language concepts and explanations that we excepted to replace authentic reality with word reality. The intuition, because it is real, transforms into a voice too, since we decided to only pay attension to little chattering ego voices. We learned to put so much importance on the ego concept voice that it became constant, ongoing, self - reinforcing while all things intuitive and authentic get labeled as unimportant so its voice sounds unimportant. But the intuition is authentic so it never really goes away. It just gets filtered down to being a voice and an ¨unimportant¨ one compared to ego, the self appointed ¨important voice.[

I have recently been thinking about human evolution and how scientists have made it seem like its not something we are conscious of. I think we are evolving socially though, not just physically.  When I started experiencing some of these nonverbal aspects of reality it made me think after maybe we are seeing the results of focusing too much on language at this poing in our social evolution and are realizing the impact of that on our perspective. This may be a time of correcting the effect of going too far in varbal reality and information at the cost of authentic reality.

What Is The Intuition And How Does It Work?

@Kevin Dunlop @Emerald Wilkins @Infinite Intuition is the highest rung of the ladder, the ladder of consciousness. It can be divided into three divisions: the lowest and the first is instinct; the second, the middle one, is intellect; and the third, the highest one, is intuition.

Instinct is the world of the animals -- everything is instinct. Even if sometimes you see indications of other things, it is your projection. For example, you can see love in animals -- the mother looking after her kids very lovingly, caringly -- and you can think that it is not just instinct, it is something higher, not just biological. But it is not higher, it is simply biological. The mother is doing it like a robot in the hands of nature.

The second rung, intellect, gives you something which is higher than biology, chemistry, the animal nature. Intellect is also inborn, just as intuition is, just as instinct is. There is no way to increase your intelligence; all that can be done is to make your whole potential actual, which will look as if your intelligence has grown.

When your intelligence becomes a little powerful it starts interfering with your instinct. A competition, a struggle for power starts. The intellect tries to dominate, and because it has logic on its side -- reason, argument, a thousand and one proofs -- it can manage, as far as your conscious mind is concerned, to convince you that the instinct is something evil. ... but If you split your instinct completely from satisfaction, it can become so powerful -- almost like a drug -- that it can intoxicate you, it can make you hallucinate. The monks and nuns have been more in the power of the instinct.

Once your unconscious is completely free of repression, your instinct has a different quality to it. When there is nothing repressed in the unconscious  your whole energy is available for the higher. Slowly the energy goes on hitting and makes its way to the center of the superconsciousness. You reach the center a new faculty starts functioning in you which is intuition.

Intuition can give you answers for ultimate questions -- not verbally but existentially. You need not ask: "What is truth?" Instinct won't hear, it is deaf. Intellect will hear but it can only philosophize; it is blind, it can't see. Intuition is a seer, it has eyes. It sees the truth -- there is no question of thinking about it.

Intuition functions in a quantum leap. It has no methodological procedure, it simply sees things. It has eyes to see. It sees things which you have never even thought of as things -- for example, love. You have never thought of it as a thing. But a man of intuition can see whether there is love in you or not, whether there is trust in you or not, whether there is doubt in you or not. He can see them as if these are things. Love is not a thing, truth is not a thing, trust is not a thing, but they are realities -- much more real than your things. But they are realities only for intuition, they are existential.

An unclean unconscious is hindering you. Clean it; Then the energy goes on rising and opens the doors of intuition. Then you can see things which are not visible to your physical eyes, things which are not even things.

Hi everyone Leo just published a really good video about ¨ how to harness the intuition¨ . I highly recomend the video as it puts investigation intuition at the forefront, thanks Kevin

Hi Leo, Iam really glad that you posted this video, I feel like we are getting on the same page now. Way to go, this video is really honest, and for me anyway, a completely accurate description of intuition. Remember I posted in the forum this year a topic. What is Intuition and How does it work. And I was also discussing it with Emerald at the time and getting confirmation about the points you touched on too. I like how you are thinking of giving up on all the worldly things and success. Its not that you wont be ok without them or end up with nothing. You just need to stop following your identities definitions of what things are…. success, buisness, whatever you are calling these goals… are not accurate goals they are just weird definitions entrenched in your identity from before. When you practice letting go of all that identity stuff and realize that those words you are chasing dont even mean anything youll be able to experience percieving without the ego. Following intruition also has a huge benefit – no more regret. If you do go for it, and follow its illogical advice, youll know you did your best. The weight of regret and not knowing if you had done the right things is gone so you can actually enjoy life giving the drivers seat to intuition.

I had not really thought of this ability of seeing into people as part of the intuition but now that you have explained it , it really makes sense to define it this way. As Leo explained in his  recent video on the intuition ( if we are correct in calling it that ) it can be heard as a voice if one reaches that level of peace but he also mentioned that later on it becomes more of a connection between the mind and body and is thus felt more than heard. I feel like the intuition wants to take on this more powerful form of being felt and directly guiding instead of being a quiet voice ( that you fight with yourself over if you will follow its advice or not.)

I have also been working with some visual/ mental exercises that are helping me to change my perception. These have led me to have a more energetic visual experience. First I became able to convince my mind not to produce the illusion of depth. Everything I see apears as a flat screen. Then I tell myself ¨this is nothing more than consciousness unfolding¨. This allows me to not get involved with the egos concepts of reality and stop needing to define and name everything out there unconsciously and automatically because the ego doesnt recognize this flatened reality. So I can redefine it as all one thing, even me, all just consciousness unfolding. Cars, people, mountains, all the same. This helps me to feel the ¨all one consciousness¨ and hear what people say as all one conversation about us, all in one mind. Also when I close my eyes this too is consciousness unfolding, the internal vision, a flat screen ever changing with lights and images that when one sleeps or focuses on become the dream reality. I then began to notice that doing this begins to allow defined reality to infuse with energetic vision. Having fun! thanks for reading.
