Great points. In addition to this I think that his travels around the world, having spent much of his working life in places like Papua New Guinea forming relationships with indigenous people, have given him additional perspectives to think about the modern world and the problems it faces.

I started the first part of Guns, Germs, and Steel... blew me away.  The interrelationships, complexity, systems thinking, and yet how everything works together smoothly, in an ecologically and systemically logical and intuitive fashion.  Changed the way I think (at least for a few minutes )

Also the fact that he's writing these books for the general public, and that he's able to present a nuanced look at the complexities of the systems he's analysing in a way that's understandable for a non specialist is a mark of just how good of a communicator he is.

"The Wisdom Pattern" is Brilliant example of stage Yellow thinking by Richard Rohr. He masterfully takes on the Green, Orange and Blue memes - especially the pitfalls of postmodernism - while also presenting a beautiful vision of Yellow religion, society and culture. The way he so poignantly speaks to Green, Orange and Blue in the very same paragraph is truly amazing.

About as subtle as an anvil falling from a skyscraper, but an effective analogy nonetheless.

I was thinking about this recently... Are  stage Yellow movies / tv shows (fictional, not documentaries) even a thing at this point of time? Seems really difficult to place my finger on what a stage Yellow piece of entertainment would look like. The handful of examples I can think of might be better placed in high Green with some aspects of Yellow.
