Foods With Incredible Benefits For The Body

21 posts in this topic

I've had a condition called ulcerative colitis for a few years which basically means I have to really watch what I eat and because of that I'm constantly researching foods that are good for you and I always wonder why people aren't told about them.

So I wanted to start a thread if anyone's come across food or anything that has some crazy benefits for your body.

I'll start with a couple -

Coconut oil - 10 benefits

Hem seed protein - great source of natural protein amongst other benefits http://www.alive.com/food/hemp-protein/

Avacado - 12 benefits

Obviously there's loads, but if you've got any ones that people don't really talk about post them up!

Asparagus French fries... I never heard of anyone else doing this, so I thought it was my own invention...

I fry some skinny asparagus in olive oile with fresh garlic minced and I cook it on low to medium for about an hour charring it a bit.  Yum, healthy and a great filling meal if u make enough....

I also get supreme local asparagus in the summer...

what a healthy treat

Goji berries, Himalayian Immortals ate them to survive off of. Drink green tea raw, forget the sugar, milk, cream  and other crap. Just drink for the benefits

Lots of good responses. Good thread post started OP.

The Local farmers markets if you have any around you or out rural -- it's the eye candy for the body. Lol soul food :D

Living off the land if you have that option. We raise live stock ourselves over here. But realistically not everyone has the option to do that .... Nor even wants to (I understand). So plant gardens, even pot gardening in small spaces. When you can reap that harvest of your hard work -- what an incredible feeling soaring through the body. Start small. Pot gardening is a fun activity. Put smiles on the face :)

Magnesium because it regulates more than 300 of biochemicals in the body. From muscle growth to your energy levels. But it needs to be consumed ORGANIC because the modern agriculture's and soil don't have magnesium in it so you won't get the necessary amount of it because the soil needs to have mg in the first place in order to produce mg.

Essential stuff for the body.

Plus if you buy magnesium, get magnesium citrate or L-threonate - if you want it to penetrate your blood-brain barrier and enhance your cognition.

Then you need vitamin D if you don't have a lot of sunshine beaming at your skin.  Because vitamin D needs magnesium to utilize fully. Or maybe the other way around don't remember now. If you want supplement gets D3.

Then get omega-3 from Krill oil.

These 3 are essential for your health. Many people look past this and wonders why they are sick or have brain fog.

Then maybe you want to get some adaptogenic herbs into our body so you can deal and become affectless with the modern daily stress.

You don't need to do it if you have your own garden and grow your own food. But nobody has time for that so if you take action here you will notice some good health, both in your mind and body!!!!!!!!!

Maybe a long post but you wanted crazy benefits.

Thanks for the tip. Added Amla to my shopping list :)

Back home in eastern Europe where I grew up we would buy fresh gooseberries at a local farmer's market, and either eat them raw or made gooseberry preserves for the winter. Here in the U.S. the berries are not as popular, but will try the Amla powder in my morning smoothies. Sounds deliciously nutritious c(:

Gonna keep an eye out for the fresh berries. The powder works great in smoothie.
