Does the brain create reality?

Think of a computer, there is the hardware, the software and electricity that all is needed to make it function. If one of these things is damaged or not working, then the computer won't work.

So, in this example, the hardware of the computer would be the apparent persons body/brain, the software program would be the persons mind (with its god given programming- vasanas, gunas, etc), the electricy..this is awareness- that illumines the entire process and allows it to function.

All analogies are imperfect and break down eventually. For instance, this one doesnt state that that hardware/software of the computer is also created out of and within awareness.

I like that analogy. On a side note, I don't believe in materialism. I have taken LSD and I know reality is beyond materialism. Furthermore, I don't believe that the brain alone creates reality, but maybe to some degree.

Yeah, if the brain is perfectly healthy it should run the body functions and senses smoothly, if not, then there will be deficits to contend with for the "apparent" person.

For example -

"Parkinson's disease (PD) is a degenerative, progressive disorder that affects nerve cells in deep parts of the brain called the basal ganglia and the substantia nigra. Nerve cells in the substantia nigra produce the neurotransmitter dopamine and are responsible for relaying messages that plan and control body movement."

You mean derealization? THat nothing of this is literally real? Or just a metaphor?

You dont want to go through the first one, its pretty scary

Enlightenment/Truth = what you call "derealization"

Yes, it's pretty scary to die.

You will never be the same again. "Reality" will forever be borked.

As long as you keep insisting in brians or chemicals or anything else as "real", you will not be fully awake.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.
