Did Anyone Watch Leo's New Video "how To Be A Strategic Mf

6 posts in this topic

And when he gets to the part where he lists strategic blunders go "DAMN! that's a list of every mistake I've ever made"

Well that's what I said, not joking. And it was more than a bit hard not to get down on myself. Because, ya see, I know he's right on and I knew it then too (in my past). So I pulled my bootstraps up and took a look at the mirror. I've been going down the path of self-actualization for over half my life and could probably write a book on it. But I don't put 1% of it into practice (why?)

I know I can, and I know anyone could yet day in and day out I stay idle. Frustrating.

 Not even sure what the point of this post is but if you took the time to read it thanks for listening to me...

Just all part of the natural growth curve.

Stay calm and carry on. The first few years of self-actualization work are the slowest. It picks up after that and only keeps getting better and better with time. The key is to not quit during the slow phase.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Completely agree with Leo! Don't stop and don't surrender. Of course you can do it, of course its hard but I've found that the key to developing and implementing the self development ideas in your life is taking massive action. Just do it you know, you might loose track sometimes, but it's then when you have to go back on track.

Don't loose faith! You can do it :)

@Leo Gura @ALGUIMAR

Thank you for the kind words and positive encouragement.

It's kinda funny if you think about it too; if we did everything perfect all the time  we wouldn't need self improvement.

@Leo Gura@David

Grateful to have found this forum and resource. I find your videos really engaging and helpful Leo. Thank you.
David, thanks for sharing your experience. Not completely finished viewing the video, but I can relate to a couple things you've shared...

- Occasionally, I find it both disheartening and rewarding identifying areas for growth.

- I find it challenging to consistently implement solutions to these challenges.

The approach I'm currently trying out to get into the frame of mind where I am enjoying the process of personal growth more include:

- Be kind to self (It's surprising how hard we can be on ourselves, yet be kind to others. I sometimes ask myself what it is I am experiencing, what I need for it to be better, then positive self talk myself)

- Get out of problem solving mode (If I am relaxed, curious and friendly with a challenge, I tend to work through the specific challenge better. Peers also seem more inclined to help.)

- Get out of fight or flight mode (Unless there is an imminent need to act, creating space between stimulus and my response allows me time to think and act appropriately)

- Finally, I chat about challenges with my support network. Sometimes I think I am seeking their reassurance that things will be okay, other times advice as to how they might work through a similar challenge.

Thanks again for sharing your experience and for an opportunity to respond.

@Leo Gura I've been applying this with my creative writing! When I have a plateau, I like to take breaks from creative writing and focus on taking walks outside on beautiful days to relax my mind, I've been feeding my muse by going to live theater, jazz concerts, and to the movies or to a museum. I realize when I watch a great play or a movie, I get so captivated that I'm in a flow state! I learning how to balance creativity with being strategic!
