There is no Afterlife. There this afterlife allegory a depiction of enlightenment. 

Afterlife meaning in a way, after the Mind.

In my opinion we should trust those who are above us in knowledge and experience (mystics and sages) who all agree that you cannot die, that you are eternal. Of course to be truly certain about it, one has to experience it for himself/herself. You don't believe in an afterlife after that, you know it.
