technical question

Hello, not sure where to post this. I keep running into the problem of shift-enter wiping out my text on this forum. It doesn't happen in other places but often happens to me here. Any suggestions?

I don't want to derail the OP's question but I also have a technical question that I've just never made a thread about since there isn't a section for it. 

 

Am I the only one who has a "new posts" button/option on a mobile device but not on a desktop? Is this just a difference in the browser being used? Thanks!
