If ideas label objects, what is a human being underneath society's belief. 

E.g: - a cat is labeled a " cat " BUT underneath our beliefs/ symbol of the idea, what is a cat truly?

@Shakazulu You're saying that the true nature of a human (or even a cat) is not something which can be captured with language and concepts. If that is the case, then how am I to use concepts to tell you what the true nature of a human is? 

If you wanna go ultra deep as to what "anything" is, the only thing you can do is just do meditation/yoga, and realise that your entire experience is just a happening.

@Shakazulu The true nature of anything like contents of the dream(objects) and yourself cannot be described. Everything is made out of same thing. Its all One. Thats your true nature and cats true nature. As@Nahm  said, its you, which means the true nature of everything is same. If you really want to call it something, you can call God, Consciousness, Truth, however you like it. Essentially it cannot be described in words. To find the cats true nature, you would have to find your true nature.

Life is like a dream. So contents of the dream are more like appearance. That which you sense has no reality of its own. Life is a dream but the dream is real as its all One. Existence exists and its One.

Thats best I could describe it. Hopefully this doesn't sound like mumbo jumbo.

@Saumaya ahh so it's not that the cat is really something, the cat is just an illusion. Maybe I should rephrase my question. I think I'm questioning what a cat was before it evolved to that cat we know. The label " human " in ancient times, did we identify ourselves as something else then we forgot/lost the truth over time? now we identify ourselves as " human " perhaps out of ignorance / identify the cat as a cat out of ignorance?

There is nothing wrong with labelling as long one does not think that the labelled thing is its true nature
