Car enthusiasm, a bad hobby?

4 posts in this topic

I've always loved cars. Some people view them as mere objects to be transported from pont A to point B.

I value the sensations that provides to me, the fun, the comfort, the freedom to travel without limitations. Is that materialism? Well I'd define it as a tool.

I know, maybe my ego tries to rationalize my decision and make excuses.

I own a 15 old civic, very reliable that works perfect. I dont need a new car.

But I want a premium car, and there are objective arguments that my ego creates:

--A  newer car with more security features and stable behaviour would reduce my stress in the road.

-I could make long journeys without being fatigued and more comfortably.

Those who are in the enlightenment path will say that this is a stupid waste of money.

i ask to those who are into self-actualization while playing in the matrix. I'm being a victim of a materialist hobby, or can i spend my money in what I love?

Some have hobbies like traveling to exotic destinations, that cost tons of money, others collect paintings, books. Relatively, doesnt look that bad.

The question I was thinking about:

What's better for the environment

Buying a used car vs buying an electiric car

Great hobby. Go personalize your Civic, you can make it as safe as the new ones tunning it.
