Dragon Ball Z Is About Spiritual Enlightenment

30 posts in this topic

I haven't watched this show since I was a kid when they used to play it on Cartoon Network, but I just recently stumbled upon a video talking about Dragon Ball Z and its relation to Taoist philosophy.  I always knew there was something deeper about the show that kept drawing us in.  I don't want to spoil the video for y'all, but the content producer's analysis of Goku and particularly of Vegeta is relevant to the kind of self-development work we do here.

@WildeChilde Yes, very interesting show.

Have always thought it was more than meets the eye

I finally learned that within me
there lay an invincible summer.

This show, especially the original dragon ball, got me motivated to start working out when i was in high school. Maybe I will watch the episodes where Goku and Krillen are training with master Roshi delivering milk and running away from dinosaurs it again with enlightenment in mind rather than strength. Thanks for sharing

@WildeChilde Sounds like Goku has found true Wu-Wei (effortless action without attachment).

watch dragon ball super. He reaches this new state called Ultra Instinct.

That is basically like his enlightenment state. You can watch it on crunchyroll.

the first 5-10 episodes were so bad I quit, I didn't like humour or style or the boring storyline, does it get MUCH better?

If its only a case of a few fights being good I'd just rather clip it.

Oh yes, I remember being captured by the story when I was a pre-teen, especially the young Goku learning basically energy work. I do remember the series sometimes.

They made the heroes journey look really appealing :)

Goku was always my favorite for that matter, innocence of a child, enlightened attitude to life :)

This is also why Goku has the most Ultimate powers. Only those Pure of Heart can access the greatest universal powers because they will never use them for harm or destruction, only creation or to prevent destruction

@WildeChilde That's really interesting and it's true, I've never seen Goku as someone who's righteous and trying to save the world. He was just following his bliss and doing what he wants. It emphasizes on how important authenticity is.
