Questioning The Meaning Of My Habits

3 posts in this topic

There are some habits I tried implementing in my everyday life and the only two powerful and meaningful ones I consistently act on for nearly 1,5 years are journaling and meditation. I skipped just two days of journaling and maybe three of meditation. At the beginning I needed those to gain momentum to start the day with a positive attitude. Now I find myself in a season where I don't need any repetitive morning routine. I have the urge to take action on project and life purpose related things and arrange the habits to the end of the day. I notice that my regular 45 minutes meditation got harder to sit through because I just want to get things done and see how fast time is passing by. I don't know if it would make any difference to give up those habits entirely. I don 't judge myself for skipping journaling or meditating but still keep on doing them just to keep the streak. The streak is not my motivator and I don't need any achievment kind of goal. There is no goal in both of those habits. I feel how those habits have changed my life and it doesn't take any willpower at all to act on them. It feels like a am entering a breaking point where my self is looking for alternative ways of living.

Can anyone relate to that? What are your viewpoints?

Yeah I can. Still thing that meditating is important to put things into perspective. I started meditating 2 years ago and with it figured somethings out and started working on it and stoped meditating to have more time to work. Soon enough I stoped meditating entirely and after that got lost in my work and eventualy made a full circle and returning to where I was before meditating. Then I started re-meditating every day and those perspectives and conclusions returend and now I´m back on my path. Yeah , meditating get´s hard to do since there is so much that I want to do , but they keep me centralized , they keep me on the path.

@Roman Hello, friend.

Can you elaborate some on "my self is looking for alternative ways of living?"
A new lifestyle? A new life purpose? A new state of awareness?
Are you wondering about what else to do or act on now that you have those two grounding practices established?
