He can do LASIK once his vision has stabilized and usually when he is 21 - 25 years vision stops changing but some cases can be done earlier, you will have to ask the LASIK specialist. If he is still young i would avoid glasses and computer screens, devices, tv ect.. all these things keep our eyes in a (fixed-state) thus the eye muscles do not exercise and become accustomed to seeing clearly only at that distance thus why myopia appears.

Checkout Bates method and work of Todd Becker

If you have access to nature few months away from screens, glasses and out in nature, looking at different distances (exercising the eye) and color spectrum's(especially green nature = restores eyesight) while consuming and antioxidant/anti-inflammatory rich healthy diet can help but will take a lot of time and effort depending on how strong his prescription is. Hope this helps clear things up :)

I liked what Pluto said. A great alternative source here

I went from -3 to -2.5, now working on -2.25.  Above source gave me great info to help doing that.

Don't look for Bates methods.

Endmyopia.org seems effective.

I don't have an opinion about LASIK, because I am personaly not interested in it, but I know it shouldn't be done too early.

No surgery needed, it will do harm in the long run.

The kid has problems with the Plexus.

If you are the gentleman of the photo, then is mainly due to you, the kid is copying your inner being.

Depends on the person and specialist. My mother, uncle, aunt, cousins all done for 10 - 15 years now have perfect vision and no complications. The doctor done over 20000 patients with 95% success rate.

If you take care of your health, it doesn't look like it will give you problems in the long run, its worth it because doing all the work naturally to restore to perfect vision can take very long time for most people and most people simply cannot and will not do it or be bothered.

I did it on february and now im still recovering from dry eye... Lasik doesnt give perfect vision although you may see better than with glasses and not to mention the freedom you have... Anyway it goes from person to person, it depends on the cornea thicness etc..... I reccomend to do that when he'll be fully adult in about 20 years so . . . Who know what other better technique will be avaiable till then?

I'm satisfied on the 80% tho, the doc says i'm still improving anyway from a social point of view dont do anything to your kid while he's still not an adult.. let him gather up all the information and decide for himself because lasik is not sweet as the docs make it sound... It may ruin in small percentage your contrast, you may see floaters ect.... i would recommend vision therapy.... It works wonders... Just talk to many doctors as you can so you work on the best non surgical way (for now) . . . .all the best

@Leo-Tzu How much water do you drink a day? how is your diet/lifestyle? One of my cousins had dry eye and had to use drops for a whole year but all he drank was soda and ate junk food. The rest of the family only had to use the drops for a month. It also depends on what you do on a daily basis, if you stay on screens/artificial lighting a lot its going to take much longer to recover in which my cousin also glued to the screen 24/7.

Checkout Dr Christopher's Herbal Eye solution to use as a daily eye wash, much better in the long run then those artificial tears as they can have a rebound effect and interfere with bodies natural production. Even if they are preservative free, you can probably make a better saline solution with sea salt, msm and colloidal silver and distilled water as a base.

Hope this helps

@Leo-Tzu Yes indeed it will heal over time. Hemp seeds actually have better conversion but chia/flax are still fine. Take them with Turmeric(curcumin) for better absorption/conversion. Also Astaxanthin, Bilberry and Eyebright are excellent for eye healing, night-vision and overall macular strength and support.

Lutein & Zeaxanthin are also very important for the eyes which Kale/Spinach and similar leafy greens are very high in or Algae superfoods like chlorella/spirulina. Vitamin A and C are also important and Lots of berries = Antioxidants and Anthocyanins are excellent for eye health and support.

Most welcome :)
