I just want to say Thank You!

I have been on this site for about a week now now, and I feel silly for saying this, but I really do feel like I am becoming a different (better) person from all of the things you all spoke to me about. It's pretty exciting, and I want to just keep learning. 

I even noticed a difference at Church yesterday. I felt really in tune with the lessons and I felt like I was really able to focus like I haven't been able to do before. We spoke about neighboring well and how you can't go and be a good neighbor if you have not come to God and grown in the Spirit.

I felt like it was a good lesson to hear after talking to all of you. I've been feeling so disconnected, but like you and my Pastor said, I need to work on myself and break free of my "Ego". 

I feel overall more positive and I'm trying to stay that way.

hard lesson: don't get attached to "positive".

Very True. I'm trying to keep that in mind too. I gotta accept that there is A LOT out of my control, but that doesn't mean I can't still be content with life over all.

Is that what you mean?

yeah, exactly. you get it.

and there's even a broader perspective. is there anything under control at all?

Existence is infinitely mysterious. we just ARE right now and we don't even know why. we can't know why.

Still trying to figure that part of it all out  I have tried to meditate a few times, but I am not sure if I am doing it right or not. I still have so much to learn lol

Jesus says, “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” The fundamental question is whether you love yourself or not. You can love the neighbor only if you love yourself. If you have never loved yourself: it is impossible to love thy neighbor.

"Love thy neighbor as thyself" is not even an option. it's an inevitable fact.

Also don't confuse Love with pride where one rejects one's own neediness and projects it outward and sees needy people and wanting to serve / help them.

Yeah, they mentioned in the lesson how trying to approach someone without being right with yourself and God could hurt the relationship. So work on your inner-self, and the rest should come naturally
